  • Patent number: 6871211
Abstract: A network based medical telemetry system that uses, to the greatest extent possible, standard hardware and software components. The system allows clinicians using computers anywhere in a large hospital to view physiologic data from patients of the hospital. Each patient is fitted with a set of sensors that measure physiologic properties of the patient (e.g., EKG sensors). The sensors are connected to a transmitter that relays the physiologic data to a central server. The central server comprises a WEB server that supplies basic patient data such as the patient's name and medical history. The central server also comprises a waveform server which supplies the physiologic data, in real-time or near real-time. Workstation, used by a clinician receives the basic patient data from the Web server and the physiologic data from the waveform server, and produces a combined display. The combined display is continuously updated, showing, for example, the patient's EKG.

  • Patent number: 6678528
Abstract: A system and method are provided which allow a wireless handset in a wireless network to be notified of a call processing event, such as an incoming telephone call, occurring at a directory number in the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The system monitors the directory number for predetermined call processing events. Once a predetermined event is detected, a call handling request is sent to a processing node in the PSTN which searches a database for information related to the event. Using information related to the event, an alphanumeric notification message indicative of the event is generated. The notification message is then sent to a messaging center in the wireless network for delivery to the wireless handset.

  • Patent number: 5162250
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for allowing access to a buried wordline conductor (38) of a dynamic random access memory cell array. A selected memory cell is used as a wordline connection cell (47). A local oxide layer (43) is used during the etchant process which is used to form wordline conductors (38). The oxide layer (43) functions as a mask to create a wordline connection body (45). During the formation of the bitline conductors (42), a wordline contact 49 may be similarly formed to provide access to the worline conductors (38). The wordline connection cell (47) provides efficient access to the wordline conductors (38) and uses only the substrate surface area occupied by a single memory cell.

  • Patent number: 5098866
Abstract: Hot-electron-induced degradation of a semiconductor device (10) is reduced by converting the silicon surface (18) to a fluorinated-silicon compound interface region (23). The fluorinated-silicon compound interface region (23) is formed by etching the device (10) in a fumer (30) using anhydrous hydrofluoric acid. After a sacrificial oxide is grown over the silicon surface (18), the device (10) is placed in a container (32). A mixture of nitrogen, moistened nitrogen and nitrogen/anhydrous hydrofluoric acid is injected into the container (32) to conduct the etch. The anhydrous hydrofluoric acid converts the silicon to a fluorinated-silicon compound, such as H.sub.2 SiF.sub.6, and water. The fluorinated-silicon compound interface region (23) has stronger molecular bonds than the typical hydrogen-silicon formed at the oxide/silicon interface and is, therefore, less likely to be broken apart by hot-electrons.
