  • Publication number: 20200051419
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting, isolating, and diagnosing machine faults are discussed. An exemplary system includes a network of sensor nodes deployed at machines or machine components to sense information of machine characteristics, and to generate physical or statistical features using the sensed machine characteristics. A cloud-computing device, communicatively coupled to the sensor network, can provide cloud-based services including detecting a machine fault, diagnosing a fault type, or estimating time to machine failure. A user interface associated with a client device can alert a user of the detected fault, such that the user can take preventive actions to minimize machine downtime.

  • Patent number: 8442456
Abstract: A wireless communication unit comprises a transmitter having a power amplifier and a feedback path operably coupled to the power amplifier. The feedback path comprises a coupler for feeding back a portion of a signal to be transmitted and a detector for detecting a power level of the fed back signal. A controller provides a ramp signal to the power amplifier that controls an amplitude characteristic of the signal to be transmitted. Averaging logic is operably coupled to the detector and arranged to average the detected power level over a first period. Comparison logic is operably coupled to the averaging logic and arranged to compare the average detected power level with a reference value. The controller is operably coupled to the comparison logic and arranged to scale a ramp signal applied to the power amplifier in response to the comparison.

  • Patent number: 8310362
Abstract: A method of processing location information on a mobile device which includes a primary receiver for receiving a primary signal; a diversity receiver for receiving a diversity signal or location information; a diversity combiner which can combine primary and diversity signals to form a combined signal; and a first processing unit for processing the combined signal; the method comprising the steps of: identifying whether the device is in a location mode or a diversity mode; if the device is in location mode, disabling the diversity combiner; passing the output from the primary receiver directly to the first processing unit; and passing location information from the diversity receiver to a location processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20080027586
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided herein for permitting or interrupting irrigation using sensor equipment. In one embodiment, a method for controlling irrigation comprising the steps of: generating an indication representing the amount of rain fall at a sensor unit; transmitting a signal comprising at least the indication from the sensor unit to an interface unit, wherein the interface unit is adapted to cause an interruption of programmed watering schedules of an irrigation controller; receiving the signal at the interface unit; determining, based at least on the indication from the signal, whether irrigation should be interrupted; and generating an interrupt command to interrupt irrigation.

  • Publication number: 20060280922
Abstract: The multilayer film serves as a laminate. The film is a multilayered structure that, in its base form, encompasses an intermediate layer with first and second outer layer affixed to opposing sides of the intermediate layer. The first outer layer is a semi-crystalline fluoropolymer. The intermediate layer includes a polyester and the second outer layer is an olefinic polymer. The layers are bonded together in the noted order to provide the multilayer film.
