  • Publication number: 20200385870
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a molybdate-based composition and a conversion coating obtained therefrom that can replace conventional and toxic chromate-based conversion coatings in a variety of applications and industries. The molybdate-based composition provides conversion coatings that exhibit anodic inhibition and rapid repassivation when applied to objects, such as metal-based objects, and do not contain hexavalent chromium. The molybdate-based composition and conversion coating can be used to reduce corrosion. Embodiments of methods of protecting objects, such as metal surfaces, with the molybdate-based conversion coating also are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200313370
Abstract: A method and apparatus utilize a data connector, a connection adapter, and a matching transformer. The data connector receives a data signal from a communication line. The connection adapter, coupled to the data connector, receives the data signal with the data connector, adapts the data signal from the data connector to a coax connector, and communicates the data signal to the coax connector. The matching transformer, coupled to a coax cable, performs impedance matching between a first impedance associated with the coax connector and a second impedance associated with the coax cable communicating the data signal.

  • Publication number: 20190045656
Abstract: Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems for managing thermal energy of a computing device. An apparatus may include a heat pipe physically and thermally attached to a container by a retainer. The container may include a plurality of slots to removably receive various plurality of pluggable circuit modules during a lifetime of the container. The heat pipe may facilitate a liquid coolant flow to remove thermal energy from a plurality of pluggable circuit modules removably received into the plurality of slots of the container. The retainer may have a tensile strength sufficient to withstand repeated receiving and removal of the various plurality of pluggable circuit modules during the lifetime of the container, without degrading the thermal attachment of the heat pipe to the container below a design performance threshold. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9867006
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe evaluation of log data of an application/service for the migration of user data to a data center in a geographic region of a user. Log data for the application/service is evaluated over a given time period on a per user basis. Evaluation of the log data comprises determining, for a user, one or more active days within the given time period. An active day comprises one or more call operations made to the application by the user. A primary geographic region of the user may be determined for the given time period based on analysis of the one or more active days of the log data. One or more data centers may be assigned for storage of user data based on the primary geographic region.
