  • Patent number: 11673528
Abstract: Airbag inflator system including a housing defining a flow passage leading into an interior of an airbag). A gas generator is arranged in connection with the housing. An activation system provides a signal to the gas generator to cause generation of gas. An aspirator is arranged between the reverse flow valve and the outlet end region and includes an inlet portion alongside the reverse flow valve and an aspiration portion partly separated from the inlet portion to define at least one opening in flow communication with the gas generator. • Patent number: 11508249
Abstract: Method for taking a test using a smartphone including placing the smartphone into connection with a device, placing the device on a head of a person with the smartphone in a position in which a display of the smartphone is visible to the person, coupling the smartphone to the device and displaying test questions on the display. Cheating is detected by, for example, monitoring presence of the device on the head of the person by periodically obtaining biometric data from the person and analyzing a change in the biometric data relative to previously obtained biometric data for the person, and when a change is present, stopping display of the test questions and generating and transmitting a communication to a test-providing institution derived from the change in biometric data.

  • Patent number: 11355024
Abstract: Methods for administering and taking a test using a headpiece supported on a person's head. A test is directed to the headpiece and includes real displays. A sequence of the real displays and fake displays are displayed on a display in front of the person's face. An encrypted code is provided, which when decrypted, provides places of the real displays in the display sequence. The encrypted code is decrypted to obtain the places of the real displays in the display sequence. A light valve assembly in the viewing portion is controlled to assume, when a real display is being displayed, a first state in which the person is able to view the display through the light valve assembly and thus the real display and assume, when a fake display is being displayed, a second state in which the person is prevented from viewing the display through the light valve assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220068154
Abstract: System for use in testing includes a frame positionable on a person's head, a display section, and a combiner arranged at least partly in front of the eyes of the person and which allows simultaneous viewing of an environment in front of the person and content on the display section, e.g., test questions. A crossview camera system images from locations on each lateral side of the frame toward the opposite lateral side and below the combiner. An iris camera system images the eyes of the person. A forward-looking camera system images an area in front of the frame. A processor analyze images obtained by the crossview camera system to determine presence of imaging devices, images obtained by the iris camera system to determine position of irises of the person and optionally imaging devices, and images obtained by the forward-looking camera system to determine presence of specific objects.

  • Patent number: 11244315
Abstract: Authentication system for enabling access or use includes a housing, a database of fingerprint and heartbeat data, a fingerprint sensor having a surface on an exterior of the housing onto which a person places their finger, and a heartbeat monitor that obtains data about presence of any heartbeat from a person whose fingers are placed onto the surface of the fingerprint sensor. A processor coupled to the fingerprint sensor, heartbeat monitor and database operatively compares the obtained fingerprint and heartbeat shape derived from heartbeat data to corresponding fingerprint and heartbeat shape data to determine whether the fingerprint and heartbeat shape data are indicative of a person authorized for access or use. Only if both the fingerprint and heartbeat shape data are indicative of the same person authorized for access or use, the processor authorizes access or use, e.g., to a cellphone, of a payment card, and to an access-controlled structure.

  • Publication number: 20210199437
Abstract: Method and system for adjusting a vehicular component based on vehicle position includes obtaining kinematic data from an inertial measurement unit (IMU), deriving, using a processor, information about current vehicle position from the data obtained from the IMU and an earlier known vehicle position, and adjusting the derived current vehicle position to obtain a corrected current vehicle position. The latter is achieved by obtaining images of an external vehicle area using a camera assembly in a fixed relationship to the IMU, identifying multiple landmarks in each image, analyzing each image to derive positional information about each landmark, identifying discrepancies between image-derived positional information about each landmark and positional information about the same landmark obtained from a map database, and adjusting the derived current vehicle position based on identified discrepancies to obtain the corrected current vehicle position.

  • Publication number: 20200301150
Abstract: Device for remote testing, augmented reality or other visualization needs includes a frame configured to be situated on a person's head, a display assembly on the frame, and a combiner assembly arranged on the frame in a position at least partly in front of right and left eyes of the person. The combiner assembly allows simultaneous viewing by the person of an environment in front of the person and content on the display assembly. The combiner assembly includes an inwardmost layer that is reflective and reflects content of the display assembly to the person's eyes, an intermediate layer that controls light transmission through the combiner assembly, and an outwardmost layer that covers the second layer and provides notification of intrusion attempts into the second layer.

  • Patent number: 10678958
Abstract: Intrusion-protected memory-containing assembly including a substrate, a data storage component and processor on the substrate, and a chassis intrusion detector assembly around the substrate. The chassis intrusion detector assembly includes a first plastic film, a mesh including conductor wires arranged on the first plastic film, and a second plastic film covering the mesh. The conductor wires are connected together in a single circuit with the processor to form a single transmission line. The second plastic film has sealed edges integrated with the mesh such that the edges are inseparable without breaking one of the conductor wires of the mesh. The processor takes action to prevent access to data in the data storage component upon detecting a variance in current through or impedance of the transmission line defined by the conductor wires caused by breaking of one of the conductor wires, e.g., causes the data storage component to self-destruct.

  • Publication number: 20200152075
Abstract: Headpiece includes a frame having support structure for supporting the frame on a person's head and a viewing portion in front of the person's face. A light valve assembly in the viewing portion has a first state in which the person can view an object in front of the headpiece and a second state in which viewing of the object is prevented. A biometric identification system on the frame attempts to obtain biometric data about the person. A processor controls whether the light valve assembly is in the first or second state by analyzing biometric data relative to previously obtained biometric data associated with the person and when the analysis indicates that the biometric data does not match, the processor controls the light valve assembly to change from the first to the second state and prevent viewing of the object.

  • Patent number: 10540907
Abstract: Headpiece for test-taking includes a frame having support structure for supporting the frame on a person's head and a viewing portion configured to be in front of the person's face when the frame is supported on the person's head, and at least one light valve assembly arranged in the viewing portion. Each light valve assembly has a first state in which the person is able to see therethrough and an alternative second state in which viewing therethrough is prevented. A controller controls whether the light valve assembly is in the first state or the second state to thereby control viewing therethrough. The light valve assembly may be situated rearward of part of the viewing portion. Only the headpiece wearer is thus able to view test questions on a display through the light valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 10438106
Abstract: Card including a substrate, at least one biometric data entry device on the substrate to receive biometric data about an individual holding the substrate, a memory component on the substrate and containing biometric data about an individual possessing the card and at least one private key, and a processor configured to compare biometric data received via the biometric data entry device to biometric data contained in the memory component to determine whether they match. When there is a biometric data match, a process requiring use of the private key(s) is initiated for authorized use of the card. A chassis intrusion detector system detects tampering with the card and upon such detection, causes deletion of the private key(s) to thereby prevent unauthorized use of the card.
