    Abstract: A battery includes a stacked arrangement of electrochemical cells. Each electrochemical cell is free of a cell housing and includes a bipolar plate having a substrate, a first active material layer formed on a first surface of the substrate, and a second active material layer formed on a second surface of the substrate. Each cell includes a solid electrolyte layer that encapsulates at least one of the active material layers, and an edge insulating device that is disposed between the peripheral edges of the substrates of each pair of adjacent cells. A support frame surrounds the cell stack and is configured to receive and support the outer peripheral edge of the edge insulating device of each cell.

    Abstract: An active noise control system for reducing the sound pressure level in one or more head areas of one or more seats in the interior of an aircraft fuselage includes multiple accelerometers mounted outside of the aircraft fuselage at or near the mounts of the aircraft's propulsion system. One or more loudspeakers are mounted at the seat and are responsible for the reduction of noise at its head area. The accelerometers continuously measure multiple reference signals during operation of the aircraft and report to a controller that continuously calculates the reported noise signals in the head areas based on the measured reference signals and its counter signals, which equal the amplitude but having opposite phase of the calculated arriving noise signals in each head area. The controller operates one or more actuator systems for continuously generating the counter signals.

    Abstract: An automatic report generator provides a narrative account of a newsworthy happening such as an sporting event by using templates. The game events are retrieved from storage and various statistics are generated from the game log and from past game logs. A template is selected for report generation in a two step process. First, conditional criteria associated with a template are compared to the game statistics to determine whether the template matches the game. In a second step, the remaining candidate templates are subjected to a weighting analysis by which the template providing the most detailed description, or describing the most relevant events of the game is selected. Once selected, game specific information is inserted into the template through the use of functions calls that request game specific data from the game log or from the game statistics generator.
