  • Patent number: 11221936
Abstract: A monitor device is configured to monitor a system, such as a utility system and/or appliance. The monitor device includes sensor(s) that measure characteristic(s) of the system, and data storage that stores parameter data that is provided from a remote service. The parameter data includes thresholds, signatures, and/or other information that describes a typical operational state of the system. The monitor device includes software that executes locally to compare current sensor data to the parameter data and determine whether the current operational state of the system is within the bounds of the typical state as defined by the parameter data. In instances where the current state is atypical, indicating a possible problem with the system, a notification can be sent describing the anomaly. The monitor device can also perform other action(s) to correct the problem or mitigate possible damage, and can operate autonomously if a network connection is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 11200742
Abstract: A method and system of providing guidance and information to customers by presentation of a virtual avatar. The virtual avatar is controlled in real-time by a remote customer service agent. The method includes sharing images of a physical space with the customer service agent, and enabling the customer service agent to project a virtual avatar on the physical space such that the virtual avatar appears to interact and move through the physical space. The dynamic projection of the virtual avatar is received by the customer as an augmentation of their own view of the physical space.

  • Patent number: 11195012
Abstract: A system and method for capturing and processing aerial images of structures to assess structural damage is disclosed. The system comprises an aerial system associated with an aerial vehicle, which is in contact with a ground system. The aerial system is used to capture images of selected locations associated with known structures and crop those images around the selected locations. The cropped images are then fed into a damage classifier that automatically classifies the degree of damage done to structures at the selected locations. The system and method may be deployed to quickly assess damage of structures in a disaster area.

  • Patent number: 11197127
Abstract: A method of determining a physical location for an address. The method includes receiving from a first global positioning system on a vehicle a first set of global positioning data indicative of a vehicle location. The method may also receive from a second global positioning system on a portable electronic device a second set of global positioning data indicative of a portable electronic device location. The method may also receive a set of location metadata associated with a picture. The method determines a residence location from the first set of global positioning data, the second set of global positioning data, or the set of location metadata. The method then associates the physical location to the address.

  • Publication number: 20210365706
Abstract: A system and method for determining an absolute position of an object in an area is presented. The system includes a server having a processor, and a plurality of camera nodes coupled to the server. Each node includes a camera that acquires images of the object and area. The server receives image data from a camera, detects the object within an approximate location by image analysis techniques, and determines a relative position of the object in pixel coordinates. The processor then detects stationary markers proximate to the relative location of the object, determines an absolute position of the detected markers relative to known markers to define an absolute position of the marker, and determines an absolute location of the object in relation to the absolute location of the detected marker. This absolute position of the object is provided to an official to accurately locate the object in the area.

  • Patent number: 11180159
Abstract: A method and system of intelligently alerting and/or routing vehicles to improve driving safety is disclosed. The method includes sharing data collected by vehicles in different locations to determine whether the presence of dynamically moving objects such as animals and pedestrians will affect traffic conditions for other vehicles on the nearby roadways. If the system determines there is a likelihood of such objects being obstacles to other vehicles, an alert can be automatically presented to the drivers of the impacted vehicles. The method further includes generating routes for the driver that avoid, or limit, the driver's exposure to the obstacle.

  • Patent number: 11182879
Abstract: A video system for creating a display in a video conference. The video system includes a web camera to capture an image of a user at a first distance from the web camera and a background that extends away from the camera at a second distance greater than the first distance. The video system also has a distance measuring system to measure the first distance between the user and the web camera. The video system establishes an artificial focal length at least as great as the first distance and less than the second distance to artificially blur the background while maintaining the user in focus. The display thus shows the user in focus and a blurred background. The purposefully-blurred background is known as synthetic bokeh.

  • Patent number: 11055978
Abstract: A system may include a processor. The processor may be configured to receive a first indication indicative of presence of a person arriving at a location associated with a scheduled service. The process may also be configured to determine whether the first indication corresponds to an expected arrival time of the scheduled service. Additionally, the processor may receive activity data in response to determining that the indication corresponds to the expected arrival time. Further, the processor may receive a second indication indicative that the person has completed the scheduled service.
