  • Publication number: 20200381984
Abstract: An electric motor assembly to supply torque is disclosed where the assembly includes a stator modules having a plurality of stator windings, each stator winding configured to receive high-voltage, alternating current; a rotor assembly, each rotor assembly having a hub and plurality of magnets arranged on the hub, the plurality of magnets each having magnetic north and south poles where the plurality of magnets are arranged along an outer periphery of the hub to alternate the magnetic north and south poles; and a main shaft to supply the torque, wherein at least one of the one or more rotor assemblies is configured to rotate the main shaft, and the at least one of the one or more rotor assemblies is associated with and concentrically contained within the one or more stator modules, the at least one of the one or more rotor assemblies being rotatable relative to the one or more stator modules

  • Publication number: 20180212490
Abstract: An electromagnetic device is presented. The device includes a stator, a gap comprising multiple gap regions, and a rotor arranged in the gap to move relative to the stator. One of the stator and the rotor comprises a conductor array having one or more conductors each configured to carry current in a respective current flow direction. The other of the stator and the rotor comprises a flux directing assembly having multiple flux directing sections, each arranged adjacent to at least one other flux directing section and each configured to facilitate a circulating magnetic flux path about the respective flux directing section. Each pair of adjacent flux directing sections are arranged about a common gap region of the multiple gap regions and configured to direct at least part of the respective circulating magnetic flux paths across the common gap region in a substantially similar flux direction substantially perpendicular to the current flow direction.

  • Publication number: 20150214824
Abstract: A generator including a first magnetic assembly and a second magnetic assembly wherein the first and second magnetic assemblies are arranged in parallel for the production of a magnetic field and a null magnetic field region, a rotor positioned between the first and second magnetic assemblies the rotor being coupled to a drive shaft extending through the first and second magnetic assemblies wherein a portion of the rotor is positioned in the null field region, a least one current transfer mechanism coupled to the rotor in the null field region and at least one current transfer mechanism coupled to the shaft, a drive mechanism attached to the shaft, whereby actuation of the drive mechanism causes rotation of the rotor in the magnetic field to produce a electric potential between the first and second current transfer mechanisms.
