Abstract: A software-based mechanism for taking multimedia notes while using a mobile computing device is provided. The interface is stream-based so as to enable complete control with a text or numeric keypad, a directional pad, and command button. A note document containing textual data and objects representing other data types may be closed and revisited after it has been created. It may be either read or edited in a single session. Changes may be manually or automatically saved to the note document for ease of user experience.

Abstract: The techniques and mechanisms described herein are directed to a method for creating an identity that defines a visual appearance for output generated by multiple applications. The identity may include a base design, an effects scheme, a color scheme, a font scheme, a logo, and business information. The identity being saved in a form that is accessible by the multiple applications so that when accessed, the application applies the identity to a document to give the document a consistent visual appearance with output from other applications.

Abstract: A table version of a document is generated by computing a table layout of the document and generating the table version based on the table layout. Computing the table layout can include recording the positions of each object in the document, dividing the document into sections, and grouping the sections based on their object content. Generating the table version of the document from the table layout can include creating table code that represents information in the table layout of the document. The table version of the document can be used to export the document to one or more computers in a distributed network while maintaining the visual fidelity and text content of the original document.
