  • Patent number: 9669213
Abstract: A method of neural stimulation is described for maintaining the responsiveness of electrically excitable cells to repeated electrical stimulation. A stimulating signal (23) is applied to the electrically excitable cells. The stimulating signal is repeatedly applied (26, 29, 32, 35) with a progressively increasing signal strength. A quiescent period (44) may be interleaved between bursts (43, 45) of stimulation. The electrically excitable cells may be retinal cells.

  • Patent number: 9613472
Abstract: A system for diagnosing vehicle problems that may include a client device and central device. The client device may include a connector to connect to a vehicle and a vehicle interface to send and receive information from the vehicle. The client may also include an input/output system, a processor, and a communication system to communicate with the central device. The client device may capture a vehicle identification number (VIN) and may transmit the captured VIN along with geographic information to the central device. In response to received instructions from the central device, the client device may passively capture diagnostic information from the vehicle and transmit the diagnostic information to the central device. In response to the diagnostic information, the central device may transmit further instructions to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20160229351
Abstract: A bicycle mounting adapter for installing a bicycle to a mounting includes a frame and two holding tubes. The frame has a transverse member and two lateral members. The two second segments are separated by a distance greater than a distance between the two first segments. The first segment has a fixing hole. The second segment has a notch. The holding tube has an embedded segment, a propping segment, and a shoulder located between the embedded segment and the propping segment. The embedded segments are inserted into the respective fixing holes and thus fix the holding tubes to the lateral members. The two holding tubes have major axes thereof aligned with each other. The propping segments each have a terminal surface defined as a pressing surface. The pressing surfaces of the holding tubes work with a quick-release assembly to hold a fork of the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 8510703
Abstract: A method and system for auto-routing wiring within a PCB. In some embodiment, a first broad region within a first layer and a counterpart first broad region within a second layer are defined. The counterpart regions define a first broad via location. In some embodiments, the first and second broad via locations of the first and second layers can then be subdivided into a plurality of triangular regions. The triangular regions on the first and second layers can then be compared to more accurately locate an appropriate via location.

  • Patent number: 8300159
Abstract: A pico projector includes a light-emitting diode module, collimators, a lens array, magnification lenses, a reflection mirror, a polarizing beam splitter, an LCoS (light crystal on silicon) panel, and an image lens module, wherein the light-emitting diode module emits red, green, and blue lights. The collimators convert light from the light-emitting diode module into collimated light. The lens array homogenizes the collimated light. The magnification lenses magnify the homogenized light from the lens array with a predetermined ratio to be projected onto the LCoS panel. The reflection mirror changes direction of the light path. The polarizing beam splitter allows for transmission of a horizontal polarization light component and reflects a vertical polarization light component. The LCoS panel reflects and modulates the light to form an optic signal. The image lens module includes, in sequence, positive, positive, negative, positive, and positive lenses to project the optical signal to a screen.

  • Patent number: 8247380
Abstract: This invention characterizes the selective apoptotic activity of specially prepared zinc charged alpha 1-acid glycoprotein, alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, and alpha 1-antitrypsin. These proteins cause apoptosis in cancer cells while leaving normal cells intact. In addition, active fragments of zinc charged alpha 1-acid glycoprotein and alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, whether manufactured from the modification of natural alpha 1-acid glycoprotein or alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, recombinantly, or synthetically, selectively induce apoptosis.
