Abstract: The invention relates to a modular furniture assembly that is convenient and versatile. One embodiment of the modular furniture assembly comprises a base and a transverse member manually, detachably coupled to the base by a coupler. The base and the transverse member have a defined spatial relationship which enables a variety of different types, configurations and sizes of furniture assemblies to be formed therefrom. Further, the base is configured such that the transverse member can be coupled to the base in a first position to form a first furniture assembly, and can be coupled to the base in a second position to form a second furniture assembly.

Abstract: A disk drive controller having a plurality of disk drive interfaces, each interface includes a connector, a delay circuit, and a set of power application circuits is provided to a server to support hot docking of SCA drives. Each connector is adapted to mate with a hot docking disk drive having equal length connecting pins, and detect the presence of such disk drive when the hot docking disk drive makes contact with the connector. Each delay circuit generates a set of properly delayed enabling signals to the corresponding power application circuits. Each set of power application circuits regulates power applications to the hot docking disk drive making contact with the corresponding connector. The delayed and regulated manner of applying power prevents voltage and power swings that might disrupt on-going operations and/or cause damages to the neighboring drives.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for identifying characteristic phonocardiographic heart sounds using a novel, recording, digital stethoscope. The stethoscope comprises in combination the features of a standard air column stethoscope together with the features of a recording, digital stethoscope. Further, the stethoscope includes features permitting the detection and recording of at least a portion of the electrocardiographic wave pattern to aid in analysis of the phonocardiographic sounds. The system for identifying phonocardiographic sounds includes the described recording, digital stethoscope together with a computer and display device for storing, analyzing and displaying the detected sounds together with comparative sounds selected from a reference library.
