  • Publication number: 20230042080
Abstract: There is provided an electrical charger device and method performed by an electrical charger device for an electronic cigarette. The electrical charger device comprises an interface configured to establish a wireless communicative pairing between the electrical charger device and an electronic cigarette, the wireless communicative pairing being establishable when the electronic cigarette and the electrical charger device are within communication range of one another; and a controller configured to acquire data related to the electronic cigarette, and configured to prohibit use of the electronic cigarette based on the acquired data and configurable rules.

  • Publication number: 20180137749
Abstract: A safety system is provided which uses sensors engaged to a person or their garments to measure light intensity or frequency or sound from a vehicle, to signal a processing circuit which determines a threat to a user. The system is configured to alert the user via haptic, visual or auditory alarms if measured lumens or sound correlates to a possible oncoming threat. Passive and active light-emitting surfaces on the garment can provide a warning or directional beacon to the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20110305709
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising an inhibitor of stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM1) or an inhibitor of STIM1-regulated plasma membrane calcium channel activity, in particular an inhibitor of Orai1 (also designated as CRACM1), and optionally a pharmaceutically active carrier, excipient or diluent. The invention further relates to an inhibitor of stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM1) or an inhibitor of STIM1-regulated plasma membrane calcium channel activity, in particular an inhibitor of Orai1 (also designated as CRACM1), for treating and/or preventing a disorder related to venous or arterial thrombus formation.

  • Patent number: 7096362
Abstract: A system for authentication to support secure data transfer includes a protocol wherein a certificate payload, an ID payload, and a signature payload all respectively contain at least two certificates, IDs, and signatures, concatenated together. The certificates are generated by different certificate authorities (CA) that have no trust relationship with each other. One certificate can be granted to a person and another to a particular host computer intended to be used by the person, so that for secure data transfer to take place, both a certified user and a certified host computer must be involved.

  • Publication number: 20040099714
Abstract: Method for forming a weldment in a nickel based alloy substrate comprising subjecting the substrate prior to welding to a pre-heating step at an elevated temperature which is above ambient temperature and less than an aging temperature of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6550012
Abstract: System and methodology providing automated or “proactive” network security (“active” firewall) are described. The system implements methodology for verifying or authenticating communications, especially between network security components thereby allowing those components to share information. In one embodiment, a system implementing an active firewall is provided which includes methodology for verifying or authenticating communications between network components (e.g., sensor(s), arbiter, and actor(s)), using cryptographic keys or digital certificates. Certificates may be used to digitally sign a message or file and, in a complementary manner, to verify a digital signature. At the outset, particular software components that may participate in authenticated communication are specified, including creating a digital certificate for each such software component.
