    Abstract: A sheet metal shingle for horizontal application on a roof beginning at the roof ridge and proceeding downwardly. The shingle has a male portion along its top edge, a female portion adjacent its lower edge and hook portions along both vertical ends. A bead of resilient compressible material is disposed along the male edge of the shingle, and a bead of sealing material is disposed in at least one of the hook portion.
