  • Patent number: 11236613
Abstract: An encapsulation system for use in securing a rock bolt in a bore hole drilled into a rock face to be stabilised, the encapsulation system comprising at least two separate encapsulation mediums and one or more elongate cartridges containing the encapsulation mediums, each the cartridge having a frangible casing, the encapsulation mediums including: a first encapsulation medium comprising a curable first resin formulation; and a second encapsulation medium; wherein, following use in securing a rock bolt, the second encapsulation medium has a lower bond strength and/or a lower compressive strength than the first resin formulation.

  • Patent number: 10066483
Abstract: A friction bolt assembly has a tubular friction bolt body defining a cavity and having a split. A rod extends through the cavity. An expansion element is mounted on the rod at or toward the rod leading end and protrudes through the friction bolt body leading end. The expansion element has an engagement surface tapering toward the rod trailing end. A drive head is mounted on the rod at or adjacent the rod trailing end. The rod is actuatable by rotation of the drive head to draw the expansion element toward the friction bolt body trailing end such that the engagement surface engages the friction bolt body, radially outwardly deforming the friction bolt body.

  • Publication number: 20160186564
Abstract: A friction bolt assembly has a generally tubular friction bolt body defining a cavity longitudinally extending through the friction bolt body and having a split longitudinally extending along the friction bolt body to the friction bolt body leading end. A rod longitudinally extends through the cavity. An expansion element is mounted on, or integrally formed with, the rod at or toward the rod leading end and protrudes through the friction bolt body leading end. The expansion element has an engagement surface tapering toward the rod trailing end. A drive head is mounted on, or integrally formed with, the rod at or adjacent the rod trailing end. The rod is actuatable by rotation of the drive head to draw the expansion element toward the friction bolt body trailing end such that the engagement surface engages the friction bolt body at the friction bolt body leading end, radially outwardly deforming the friction bolt body at the friction bolt body leading end.

  • Publication number: 20110259072
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a cable bolt includes a rotatably driven pay-out reel (20) for paying out a cable (1) coiled in use about the pay-out reel (20). An upstream accumulator (40) is located downstream of the pay-out reel (20) for accumulating cable (1) advanced from the pay-out reel (20). A bulb forming device (80) is located downstream of the upstream accumulator (40), for forming a bulb (2) in cable (1) advanced from the upstream accumulator (40). A cable drive (60) is located downstream of the upstream accumulator (40), for advancing cable (1) through the bulb forming device (80). The pay-out reel (20) is configured to rotate at least substantially continuously whilst the cable drive (60) is configured to advance the cable (1) after formation of each bulb (2) to a position for formation of a subsequent bulb (2) in the cable.

  • Publication number: 20100133214
Abstract: A roller assembly for use with a commodity display unit, the roller assembly comprising at least one set of parallel rollers mounted on an inner casing. Each roller is a stub roller with a stub at each end, and the inner casing has opposed side walls projecting from a base. Each side wall having a series of notches at its upper free end for respectively receiving the stubs of the stub rollers, and the inner casing with the rollers mounted thereon slidably engagable within an outer casing such that the stub rollers are restrained from being removed from their respective notches by two inwardly projecting upper flanges of the outer casing. Each upper flange projects from a respective wall member of the outer casing. The inner casing is secured within the outer casing by two end caps, each slidable engagable with the outer casing at opposed ends thereof.
