    Abstract: A thread displacement device for displacing a thread on a winding body includes a thread guide, which, depending on a movement of the winding body, can be freely selectively moved back and forth along a curved path defined by guide means. In the said method the clamping force of the thread clamp in the bringer rapier is additionally controlled during the weft insertion in such a way that the clamping force (F0) during the take-up of the weft thread and/or during the transfer of the weft thread is reduced relative to the clamping force (F1) in the insertion phase lying therebetween.

According to the invention, a thread tension regulating module 25 with a thread tension sensor is arranged in at least one controlled thread run 1 between the relevant feeding spool receiver 24 and the multifilament yarn manufacturing unit 5, wherein the thread tension regulating module 25 is set up to derive a control value from a thread tension measured by the thread tension sensor and to keep the thread tension constant in a predetermined thread tension range.
