  • Publication number: 20030034465
Abstract: A gate valve actuator that utilizes a mounting ring interposed between the valve bonnet and actuator housing to allow the mounting of different sizes and types of gate valve actuators onto a given gate valve and providing rotation with respect thereto is disclosed. A split retainer ring allows the coupling between the actuator and valve bonnet to avoid the use of bolts subject to corrosion and failure. A first embodiment uses a pneumatically operated diaphragm to provide a force for opening the valve. Other embodiments use pneumatically and hydraulically powered pistons. Another embodiment shows the use of multiple springs to augment the closing force.

  • Patent number: 4512363
Abstract: Disclosed is a slide valve in which the valve internals, the valve seat, guides and slide valve are maintained in position by a clamping action of an abutment in the valve body and on the valve liner secured in the body by a quick make-up connection. The slide valve is suited for all sizes of valves, both large and small and no screws or other fasteners are needed to maintain the valve internals in position. Advantageously, the guides and slides of the slide valve are maintained out of the flow path, and the valve internals including the orifice assembly with its valve seat and guides, and slide valve with its slides are readily removable through the bonnet area.

  • Patent number: 4291764
Abstract: A well casing scraping apparatus includes a generally cylindrical mandrel connected to a power driven rotatable work string or conduit. At least one peripheral ramp surface is formed on the mandrel and an annular scraping means is formed by the assembly of a plurality of externally toothed arcuate segments around the ramp surface portion of the tool support, with each segment having an internal arcuate ramp surface conforming to the adjacent portion of the mandrel ramp surface. Retaining sleeves are provided for the tool segments which not only retain the segments against radial outward movement but confine the segments axially to engagement with a particular portion of the ramp surfaces, whereby the effective working diameter of the segmented scraping means may be effectively controlled by changing the axial position of the retaining sleeves.
