Patent number: 11934168Abstract: A method and interface for automated loop checking of an industrial process control and automation system comprises importing wiring diagrams and alarm setpoints to operating software executing on a hand-held device from a database. The operating software uses the wiring diagrams and alarm setpoints to build an I/O loop check file. The method further includes, installing a dongle adapted to simulate I/O signals on a first terminal block. The dongle making an electrical connection to at least one I/O loop. The method further includes transmitting via a communication link the I/O loop check file to the dongle and instructing the dongle to perform an I/O loop test on the at least one I/O loop by simulating I/O signals based on the I/O loop check file. The results of the I/O loop test is transmitted via the communication link the results to the operating software.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2020Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Varun Prabhakar, Dawa Pakimo, Rahul De, Arzoo Abdulla, Ananda H, Chetan Prahlada Rao

Patent number: 11622465Abstract: This disclosure provides a field termination assembly (FTA) providing for ease of mounting to a support rail. The FTA provides a lever on a base that cushions against shocks and vibrations during shipment and operation while a housing is mounted on a base secured to a support rail. The base includes a dampener feature which makes it more capable of meeting operation and transportation vibration and shock requirements even for marine applications while still providing high channel density and cable count.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2020Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Dawa Pakimo, Jaison Cherian, Peter Vermaas

Patent number: 10790609Abstract: A system includes a housing having multiple slots. The system also includes multiple adaptor modules each configured to be inserted into one of the slots and perform at least one function related to an associated input or output signal. For each slot-adaptor module pair, the slot includes one of a key and a receptacle configured to receive the key, and the adaptor module includes the other of the key and the receptacle. Each key fits into the receptacle associated with one type of adaptor module and cannot fit into the receptacles associated with other types of adaptor modules. Each receptacle accepts the key associated with one type of adaptor module and cannot accept the keys associated with other types of adaptor modules. Each of at least one of the keys and the receptacles is rotatable to achieve one of multiple different orientations. Different ones of the keys have different cross-sectional shapes.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2019Date of Patent: September 29, 2020Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Dawa Pakimo, Vishwanath Balakrishna, Hemanth Vijaykumar, Karma Bhutia, Shripurnabodh Deshpande, Jaison Cherian, Chandrashekar Thayumanavan, Dinesh Kumar KN
