Abstract: A method for realizing message service is provided, and the method includes: receiving, from a receiving terminal, a response message of the transmission failure of a message of the first type ; generating, according to the response message, a message of the second type to be retransmitted by means of the flash short message; and transmitting the message of the second type to the receiving terminal. Correspondingly, an apparatus for realizing the message service is also provided. The present disclosure may upgrade the success rate of the message transmission of the MSC, thereby improving the satisfactory degree of the customer as well as the service quality of the operator.
