  • Publication number: 20240076795
Abstract: An ionically resistive ionically permeable element for use in an electroplating apparatus includes ribs to tailor hydrodynamic environment proximate a substrate during electroplating. In one implementation, the ionically resistive ionically permeable element includes a channeled portion that is at least coextensive with a plating face of the substrate, and a plurality of ribs extending from the substrate-facing surface of the channeled portion towards the substrate. Ribs include a first plurality of ribs of full maximum height and a second plurality of ribs of smaller maximum height than the full maximum height. In one implementation the ribs of smaller maximum height are disposed such that the maximum height of the ribs gradually increases in a direction from one edge of the element to the center of the element.

  • Patent number: 9844318
Abstract: An adjustment system for an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging system includes an OCT light source; a beam splitter, splitting the OCT light beam into an imaging beam to an imaging arm, and a reference beam to a reference arm; a probe, guiding the imaging beam onto a target and receiving a returned imaging beam from the target; the beam splitter generating an interference beam from the returned imaging beam and a returned reference beam from the reference arm; an imaging detector, detecting the interference beam; an imaging processor, generating an OCT image from the detected interference beam; and an adjustment device, removably coupled to the probe, the adjustment device comprising the target attached to a distal region of a target holder at a working distance from a distal end of the imaging probe, wherein an optical length of the reference arm is adjustable to improve a calibration of the OCT image.

  • Publication number: 20130012955
Abstract: A system and minimally invasive method for the placement of pedicle screws without the use of a trocar needle and/or guidewires. The system and method comprises at least one pedicle finder and at least one dilator. The pedicle finder preferably comprises an extender that is removably attached to a pedicle anchor. Attached to a pedicle anchor is a flexible tether. The extender preferably includes a passage through which the flexible tether extends. The dilator comprises a tubular body with two ends, where a first end comprises a means for securing the dilator into bony process of vertebra and a second end comprises at least two arm attachments. The tubular body Of the dilator is configured to slide easily over an extender and secure the first end into bony vertebra to prevent the dilator from dislodging.

  • Publication number: 20070179430
Abstract: A transparent illuminated infusion cannula is provided for illuminating an area during eye surgery. An optical fiber may be spaced a certain distance away from the cannula such that fluid flow around the distal end of the fiber and into the transparent cannula may occur with a much higher flow rate than what had previously been possible. The fiber cannula airspace may be optimized so that the cross-sectional area of the fluid conduit remains substantially constant in order to achieve a best compromise between high light transmittance and high fluid flow rate.

  • Publication number: 20040158660
Abstract: The present invention discloses an external keyboard device and the transmission method for commands, which provides the function of NumLock, such that it can manually switch the numerical mode or functional mode, and automatically detect the state of NumLock key on the notebook PC being ON or OFF under the numerical mode or the functional mode to determine if it is necessary to embed the control signal for NumLock_ON or NumLock_OFF before or after the signal during the output for the key signal and then transmit to the notebook PC. Thus, the user can use the external keyboard device to directly conduct the input in the numerical mode or functional mode.
