  • Publication number: 20200240096
Abstract: Components for a visual safety warning barrier or for a guide barrier to identify allowable and/or prohibited traffic areas are described. A clip (1) is attached to a tubular member (2). The clip (1) has a body member (3) with spaced first (4) and second (5) ends to define an open segment (6). The diameter of the body member (3) is substantially identical to the diameter of the tubular member (2). An open hook (8) extends from the outer surface (9) of the body member (3) to accommodate the link (10) of a chain. The tubular member (2) is urged through the open segment (6) causing the first (4) and second (5) ends to flex outwards sufficient for the interior surface (7) of the body member (3) to mate with the exterior surface (11) of the tubular member (2) as the ends (4,5) return to their initial positions, retaining the clip (1) on the tubular member (2). By applying sufficient pressure either to the tubular member (2) or to the clip (1), the ends (4,5) again flex enabling release of the clip (1).

  • Patent number: 7556736
Abstract: The process and system of the invention converts biomass materials into energy to power a large marine vessel without the problematic environmental releases of either liquids to the sea or greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The biomass is conveyed to an on-board biomass storage facility and converted to synthesis gas in an on-board gasification unit to synthesis gas that is used as fuel for fuel cells to power the marine vessel. A portion of the biomass is sea biomass harvested from the sea and removed from the sea by on-board biomass removal means that strains the biomass from the sea water and flips the biomass into a holding bin before being conveyed to the biomass storage facility. A portion of the synthesis gas is converted to useful products. These products are partially used as fuel for the fuel cells. The remaining products are off-loaded at port facilities where biomass waste materials are loaded on-board and conveyed to the biomass storage to serve as the remaining portion of biomass.

  • Patent number: 6308465
Abstract: Utility modules used to form a utility distribution system, where the utility modules are disposed on a foundation with the construction of a building, and where the utility modules may be covered with panels. The utility modules include coupling elements at edge regions and at major surfaces thereof. When coupled together, the utility modules can form a utility distribution system which is used to distribute utility services throughout a building. The utility services can be provided by a utility service system, which preferably comprises a fuel cell.
