  • Publication number: 20060186075
Abstract: A container for a cosmetic composition is provided which includes an oval receptacle and replaceable cap. The receptacle is formed with a receiving cavity and near an open end thereof has an oval landing and projecting upward therefrom a centered round neck. A screwable thread is circumferentially molded along a wall of the neck. A stop projects outwardly perpendicular to the thread at a point near the landing. A rib projects from the neck at a point near an open end of the cavity. The cap is fitted with an oval skirt surrounding a circular closure, the latter features a screwable thread complimentary to and lockingly engagable with the screwable thread on the neck. An L-shaped catch on the lower edge of the neck prevents rotation of the cap when contacted with the stop. A tab on an upper edge of the circular closure engages with a tab on the cap producing an audible click as one overrides the other.

  • Patent number: 6837405
Abstract: A dispensing container is provided which includes an ovaloid bottle and an ovaloid overcap. The bottle includes a dispensing aperture. The overcap is formed with a roof at a closed end thereof and a surrounding wall with a mouth defining an open end opposite the closed end. A pintel and a circular collar both project from the roof in a direction toward the open end. The pintel is sealingly fittable into the dispensing aperture. The circular collar ensures that the pintel will not misalign with the aperture of the bottle and thereby avoids damage to the soft plastic of the pintel. The bottle has a shoulder which serves as a camming device for easy removal of the overcap in a twist motion.

  • Patent number: 6779689
Abstract: An ovaloid dispensing container is provided which includes an ovaloid bottle and an ovaloid overcap. The bottle is fitted with a fluid dispensing device such as a pump assembly. An oval collar is supported on the bottle and has an outwardly flaring shoulder. The overcap is formed with a surrounding wall and a mouth defining an open end. The surrounding wall tapers outwardly while the mouth defines a downwardly convex perimeter on front and rear faces of the surrounding wall. The shoulder functions as a camming surface against which the overcap perimeter slides to assist in twist-off removal of the cap.

  • Patent number: 5579957
Abstract: A dispensing package is provided with a container and a cap. The cap includes a mechanism to fittingly engage across an open end of the container, a top portion defined by a deck, a skirt wall surrounding the deck, at least one dispensing orifice formed in the deck, a locking aperture with a wide and a narrow area preferably in a T-shape, a lid hingedly attached to the deck, a flexible post projecting downwardly from the lid, and a release mechanism along the skirt. The flexible post has an enlarged section at an end thereof which can lockingly engage underneath landings that define wide and narrow areas of the locking aperture. A flexible area along the skirt can be pushed inward against the enlarged section of the post to dislodge same from underneath the landings thereby opening the lid.
