  • Publication number: 20090098954
Abstract: A leg device with means for gripping, or handles, is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in Rugby Union. The simple, reusable, easy to use leg device provides a level of effectiveness, comfort, convenience, and safety not provided by conventional methods. In a leg sleeve embodiment, means for gripping include a thickened band or grip attached to a sleeve material. The means for gripping may be formed by attaching a semi-rigid material. The means for gripping may be formed by attaching extra layers in sections, in rolls, in folds. The means for gripping may be shaped to match the hand of a lifter. The means for gripping may comprise memory foam. The leg sleeve may further comprise a knee cutout or a hamstring cutout. To use, leg sleeves are applied to the legs of a jumper. Other embodiments of leg devices include leg glove or mitt and various leg straps. When the jumper jumps, one or more lifters grip the leg device.

The lifters lift the jumper higher, support the jumper in the jump while the jumper attempts to intercept a ball, and safely lower the jumper.

  • Patent number: 5212371
Abstract: A bar code scanner has a laser which produces a beam incident on a deflector, such as a polygon, which projects a scan beam out of the scanner so as to scan a bar code; light reflected or scattered from the code being detected so as to provide signals from which the bar code may be decoded. In order to insure that the scan beam is incident on the code, a bright oblong spot is provided by a second laser and a mirror which deflects the beam from the second laser along a path, generally paralleling the scan beam, through a cylindrical lens, and intersecting the scan beam approximately in the center of the scan on the code. The laser producing the aiming spot and the deflector drive circuits are initiated upon actuation of a trigger.

  • Patent number: 4395854
Abstract: A universal latch means for a drop seal assembly which is adapted for mounting to the lower end of a movable wall assembly, is disclosed. The drop seal assembly includes a universal latch means mounted on each end thereof for releasibly coupling each adjacent drop seal assembly in longitudinal alignment and in which each panel is locked from transverse relative movement. The latch means includes an alternating tongue and groove so that the tongue of one latch means nests into the complimentary groove of the adjacent latch means to releasibly lock each adjacent drop seal in longitudinal alignment and each panel is locked against vertical, horizontal and transverse movement.
