  • Publication number: 20190357228
Abstract: Methods and systems of a wireless access point (WAP) configured to support wireless communications on a wireless local area network (WLAN). In an example system, a WAP with a non-volatile memory storing network event rules that indicate conditional parameters for an action for a targeted device, includes an event detection circuit to gather and analyze wireless communications activity, and a rule initiation circuit to initiate an action for a target device indicated by a network event rule. In an example, the rule initiation circuit is to initiate an action for a target device indicated by a network event rule, where the conditional parameters are satisfied at least in part by the gathered wireless communications activity from the one or more wireless stations.

  • Publication number: 20190341988
Abstract: Example implementations are directed to methods and systems employing a solicited sounding protocol that includes an efficient communication sequence for operating a wireless transceiver transmitting a sounding trigger to one or more beamformees via a forward channel, receiving at least one dedicated training signal from the one or more beamformees via a reverse channel in response to the sounding trigger, and for each of the received dedicated training signal. The method also includes estimating forward CSI derived based on the dedicated training signal from an associated beamformee; and where subsequent packets are precoded with precoding derived from the forward CSI for transmission to the associated beamformee via the forward channel. Example aspects including scheduling multiple dedicated training signals from one or more beamformees based on a single sounding trigger.

  • Patent number: 10368360
Abstract: A WAP including: a non-volatile memory, an event detection circuit and a rule initiation circuit. The non-volatile memory stores network event rules each of which tags a station to monitor and actions to initiate for a targeted device if the tagged station undergoes a network event. The event detection circuit monitors each wireless station for a transition in communication status corresponding to a network event, and identifies the wireless station and the network event. The rule initiation circuit determines whether the identified station and network event corresponds with one of the network event rules for the identified station in the non-volatile memory, and in the event of a match, initiates the action prescribed for the corresponding targeted device.

  • Patent number: 10342052
Abstract: A WAP including: a non-volatile memory, a proximity circuit, a connectivity circuit, and a prediction circuit. The non-volatile memory accumulates historical records of each station's proximity to the WAP including transitions in proximity over time along with corresponding connectivity options before and after each transition. The proximity circuit detects a transition in proximity to the WAP of an identified station. The connectivity circuit determines current connectivity options for communicating with the station. The prediction circuit correlates the accumulated historical records for the identified station which match the identified station's current proximity to the WAP with remaining historical records for the identified station to determine which of the remaining records exhibits the highest probability of predicting the identified station's subsequent proximity.

  • Patent number: 9756450
Abstract: A system for automating setup of a station on one among a plurality of wireless home networks each associated with a distinct subscriber and each including a wireless access point (WAP) node supporting wireless communications with an associated set of station nodes. A station provisioner circuit couples to the WAP nodes to acquire credentials for a new station prior to delivery to an identified one of the subscribers; and to inject the acquired credentials into a corresponding one of the WAP nodes which services the wireless network of the identified one of the subscribers. A secure link management circuit on the corresponding one of the WAP nodes utilizes the acquired credentials from the station provisioner circuit for identification of the new station shipped to the identified subscriber; and for setup of a secure wireless communication link between the new station and the corresponding WAP node which services the subscriber's wireless home network.
