  • Publication number: 20240150854
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to detect a class of non-variola Orthopoxviruses, and, more particularly, monkeypox virus. In certain embodiments, the method may comprise obtaining a sample from the subject; and detecting a nucleic acid sequence specific to the non-variola Orthopoxvirus. In some embodiments, the method may further isolation of the non-variola Orthopoxvirus from a solid substrate such as a tissue swab and further purification of viral nucleic acid using silica beads. The sample may in some cases be self-collected by a subject. The disclosed methods and systems, including kits for self-collection, may be used for a high throughput assay allowing for screening of hundreds of samples per day.

  • Publication number: 20150336509
Abstract: A vehicle light monitoring system for allowing a user to determine if a vehicle's headlights and taillights are functioning properly. The vehicle light monitoring system includes a console mountable within the interior of the vehicle, wherein the console includes a representation of a vehicle thereon that shows the vehicle's headlights and taillights. The system further includes fiber optic cables each having a first end and a second end, wherein the cables are positioned such that the first end of the cable is adjacent to a headlight or taillight of the vehicle, and the second end is secured to the console and is arranged so that it is disposed on the headlight or taillight portion of the vehicle representation. Thus, when a vehicle's headlights or taillights are illuminated, the end of the fiber optic cable on the console will also be illuminated.

  • Publication number: 20020192139
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing aerogels and to an apparatus for carrying out the method. The aerogels are produced semi-continuously by per se known methods in that, following gel formation, the lyogel is transferred to a mobile container for at least two further procedural steps, the container comprising inlets and outlets and in that for these procedural steps, the container is moved to appropriate stations for the supply and discharge of materials, at which stations it is connected to feed and discharge means and in that the procedural steps are carried out there. An apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a container with a container top part and container bottom part, an encircling seal and a bag adapted to be placed into the container, the bag being connected along the opening and at least partially to thickening elements, container top and bottom parts being connected along their periphery in gastight fashion to corresponding parts of a retaining device.

  • Patent number: 6250032
Abstract: A connector arrangement for use with an interior space-dividing wall system including portable upright panel assemblies each having an end edge defined by a vertically elongate rail and attached to an upright support post in supportive engagement with the floor. The connector arrangement includes a connector ring which clampingly engages the side walls of at least two adjacent support posts to interconnect two adjacent panel assemblies, for example in right-angled relation with one another.

  • Patent number: 5684154
Abstract: A process of producing atracurium besylate that substantially reduces the level of impurities in the final product and avoids the repeated use of ether is provided. In accordance with such a process, N, N'-4,10-dioxa-3,11-dioxotridecylene-1,13-bis-tetrahydropapaverine (Compound 1), methyl benzenesulfonate and a catalytic amount of an insoluble base in a solvent are combined to form a reaction mixture that is maintained for a period of time sufficient for atracurium besylate formation. The reaction mixture is then filtered to remove the insoluble base and the atracuriurn besylate is precipitated.
