  • Patent number: 10010638
Abstract: A wax melt includes between about one and about sixty percent by weight of paraffin wax, between about 3 percent and about 20 percent by weight of fragrance, and between about 10 percent and about 35 percent by weight of a silicate. The silicate causes between about 97 percent and about 98 percent of a wax melt weight to be retained over a time period of about sixteen hours when maintained at about sixty-five degrees Celsius.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 2016
Date of Patent: July 3, 2018
    Assignee: S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc.
Inventors: Michael J. Banco, Michael J. Fischer, Deborah Holmes Parker

  • Publication number: 20100284168
Abstract: An illumination and volatile active dispenser device and corresponding control circuits are disclosed. The device supports at least one white light source to emit illumination light, and a plurality of colored LEDs capable of providing a sequence of light patterns and ambient light. The modular control unit provides a volatile active dispenser to control volatile active emission rates. Thus, the illumination and volatile active dispenser device provides illumination light, ambient light, light shows, volatile active emission control, and combinations thereof, within a single standalone but modular device.

  • Publication number: 20100021855
Abstract: A non-sooting containerized candle is disclosed. The containerized candle includes a container having a top opening and a plurality of holes in an upper side wall portion of the container, a wick, a sustainer for securing the wick to the base of the container, and wax or other fuel material surrounding a major portion of the wick. The plurality of holes can be present in varying patterns in the upper side wall portion of the container to control air flow into and out of the container to provide complete combustion of the candle and prevent emission of carbon particulates. The pattern of holes control or adjust air flow around the burning wick from a turbulent air flow to a laminar air flow.
