  • Patent number: 11907444
Abstract: An information handling system mouse includes a sliding power button on a bottom surface that slides to actuate a power switch on and off. When slid to an on position, the sliding power button is freed to move inward to actuate a tactile button under the sliding power button, such as with an end user inward push. In the off position the sliding power button catches under lip that prevents an inward push at the tactile button. Dual motion of the sliding power button offers intuitive varied end user interactions with a single button structure to save space at the mouse bottom surface.

  • Publication number: 20240036664
Abstract: An information handling system mouse includes a motion power switch that applies power to the mouse when the mouse is moved in a powered down state to restart the mouse processing resource and position sensor. When a mouse is inactive for predetermined conditions, such as an idle time, the processing resource enables the motion power switch and cuts off power to the mouse. The motion power switch consumes no power until motion of the mouse closes a circuit that reactivates the processing resource to manage the mouse power state. The result is a mouse idle state with no power use and a rapid wake to an operational state.

  • Publication number: 20240036662
Abstract: An information handling system mouse has a variable speed scroll wheel with magnetic tactile response. A ferromagnetic wheel coupled to the scroll wheel and having spikes and valleys interacts with a magnetic field of magnet as the scroll wheel rotates to resist rotation in variable amounts. The magnetic field is selectively removed to reduce the tactile response, such as by disengaging a magnet from a magnetic focus lens that directs the magnetic field, moving an opposing magnet into contact with the magnetic focus lens that cancels the magnetic field and moving the magnet away from the ferromagnetic wheel.
