    Abstract: Methods and systems permit a pause buffer to retain its content across one or more channel changes. In addition, various embodiments provide the viewer with a robust browsing experiencing when navigating through content that resides in the pause buffer. For example, in at least some embodiments, the viewer can navigate through pause buffer content, via a status bar, and have displayed for them information associated with a program that corresponds to their current position in the pause buffer. Further, in at least some embodiments, a status bar can be displayed and can contain visually discernible indicia which provide information associated with the content in the pause buffer.
