  • Patent number: 4356941
Abstract: A squeeze-type dispenser for a powdered material, commonly known as a puffer duster, for producing a cloud of appropriate treating powder for the control of insects and other infestations, and for similar purposes, in which a squeeze container has a wall that is deformable to decrease the volume of the container and produce a pressurized air source therein to force a stream of air through a passage to a connected nozzle, the passage comprising a thin walled tube connected with the nozzle and having restricted inlet openings so arranged that in any position of a partially filled container, there will be at least one opening positioned in the powder and another opening positioned in an air space within the container, whereby movement of the pressurized air to the nozzle will carry powder from the container to a tube section which is devoid of openings and wherein the powder and air will be mixed in such a manner that the powder will be ejected from the nozzle in the form of a dusting cloud.

  • Patent number: 4183499
Abstract: A low pressure low volume plastic metering valve comprised of a cylinder having an external tapered port and a piston having a tapered through port for communicating with the port in said cylinder. Both the tapered port in the cylinder and the through port in the piston are offset from the axis of the cylinder and communicate with each other along an arcuate tapered passageway that varies from a maximum where the ports abut to a minimum. The piston is held by a lip on the cylinder walls which prevents axial movement of the piston but allows rotation of the piston to vary the fluid flow. Sealing is improved by constructing the cylinder of a yieldable plastic and the piston of a different plastic that is brittle and non-yielding.

  • Patent number: 4121733
Abstract: Our invention relates to a wheeled fertilizer or other granular material spreader which is pushed over the area or surface to be treated. The granular material is dropped through feed openings onto the surface to be treated, the metering of the granular material being accomplished by placing the metering blade in a desired position or positions depending upon what particular granular material is being discharged from the hopper.

  • Patent number: 4120427
Abstract: A powder dispersing device having an open ended container adapted to contain a powder, a diaphragm movable toward and away from the open end of the container whereby the powder is agitated and air is caused to flow into an annular outlet passage, there being venturi openings between the interior of the container and the outlet passage whereby the powder is sucked into the outlet passage and caused to flow outwardly therefrom in the form of a powder-in-air dispersion.

  • Patent number: 4106704
Abstract: Our invention relates to a wheeled fertilizer spreader which is pushed over the area which is to be fertilized or chemically treated and in which the fertilizer, chemical or other granular material is broadcast by being dropped onto a horizontal impeller which rotates on a vertical axis and throws the material outward horizontally in a frontal direction.

  • Patent number: 4014449
Abstract: A safety closure for a container comprising an inner cap with a top and cylindrical collar having threads mating with threads on the container and a central longitudinal extending recess; an outer cap having a top and a cylindrical collar fitting concentrically about the collar of the inner cap, the outer cap being freely rotatable relative to the inner cap in the direction of loosening the inner cap member from the neck of the container, having cooperable locking means with the inner cap for tightening the inner cap member on the neck of the container, the top of the outer cap having a central longitudinal extending opening adapted to be moved into and out of alignment with the recess on the inner cap member by rotation of the outer cap member relative to the inner cap member; and means to prevent insertion of a key device into the aligned opening and recess without the application of pressure on the key device.

  • Patent number: 3989153
Abstract: A safety cap having means for signalling when the cap is tightly screwed onto the container comprising a cap member and a driver member surrounding the cap member with inner engaging means positioned between the driver member and the cap member for rotating the cap member in a direction to screw it onto the neck of the container, the means giving a signal when the cap is tightly screwed in place.
