    Abstract: A lifting tool for lifting water meter covers including a hook member contoured and sized to go through the hole in the water meter cover and a telescoping sleeve member around the shank of the hook member, adapted to move up and down relative to the hook member, and including a spacing member for forcing the hook at the end of the hook member to engage the bottom of the water meter cover to facilitate lifting of the cover.
