Abstract: A language with similar representation for programs and data is used in cooperative data processing applications, particularly for the distribution of information and processing in a network management system in accordance with executable messages which convey the code to be executed, identifying simultaneously the functions to be applied and the data on which the functions must be applied. The messages are asynchronous and are sent in the network in a free format from an interpreter INT of said language in one machine to another interpreter of said language in another machine.

Abstract: Method of programming an information processing system having a plurality of data processing devices connected with a network and having access to data stored in complex structures, such as sets or trees, including providing a programming language on said information processing system in which data types of variables used therein are defined by the content of the variables, allowing program variables used with said programming language to be defined without assigning a predetermined data type thereto, developing application programs of the network management type using said programming language, manipulating said complex data structures using said application programs by requesting and receiving data from said complex data structures without designating particular data types of the data to be received, and providing a language interpreter for said programming language on each of said plurality of data processing devices.

Abstract: This method for administration of an information processing resource by an arbitrary administration system (MAN) allows the management of any arbitrary application (APP) whose symbols table (ST) is contained in the executable program. To achieve this, an agent (AGE) is created in conformity with the standard administrative protocol (SNMP), this agent being parametrizable by means of the configuration file (CF) that the agent contains. Once the agent has been created, the agent (AGE), by way of the symbols table (ST), on the one hand, which provides the correspondence between the name of a variable and its implantation in memory, and by way of a system function call (SC) of the analysis process type, on the other hand, directly accesses the memory zone where the implantation is provided by the symbols table ST, to enable the proper processing operation as a function of queries from the administration system (MAN).
