  • Patent number: 7280465
Abstract: A method for transmitting data between two nodes of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing network, including assigning to each node at least one transmit frequency set and one receive frequency set, the transmit set of each node being different from its own receive set; and using each node as a relay for transmitting back a transmission which is not intended for it.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 2002
Date of Patent: October 9, 2007
    Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.A.
    Inventor: Denis J. Mestdagh
  • Patent number: 7277381
Abstract: A method for transmitting data between at least three nodes of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing network, including assigning to each node at least one transmit frequency and one receive frequency, the assigned frequencies being different from one node to the other; forming data symbols to be transmitted all having the same duration whatever the transmission node; and adding, to each transmitted symbol, a cyclic prefix and a cyclic suffix reproducing a predetermined number of samples, respectively of the end and of the beginning of the symbol.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 2002
Date of Patent: October 2, 2007
    Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.A.

  • Patent number: 7257128
Abstract: A method for transmitting data between a master modem and at least one slave modem of a master-slave network in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing, including assigning to each slave modem at least one transmit frequency band and at least one receive frequency band chosen in a range of frequencies likely to be processed by the master modem; and in each slave modem: oversampling, respectively undersampling, each transmitted or received symbol; and filtering upstream of the oversampling, respectively of the undersampling, by a band-pass filter of the corresponding assigned frequency band.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 14, 2007
    Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.A.

  • Patent number: 5353285
Abstract: The time slot management system is included in a digital time division multiple access system includes a main station MS and a plurality of substations U1/16 connected to each other via a tree network. The substations U1/16 send to the main station MS upstream information packets in time slots assigned to each of the former stations by the main station. Part of the time slots are reserved for management information and used by the substation to inform the main station about the bandwidth needed for the further transfer of the upstream information, According to this information the time slot management system allocates the time slots and informs the substations thereof. In this way a flexible and dynamic time slot allocation is provided.
