    Abstract: A laminated panel for use as a wall or floor covering is disclosed which comprises a pre-grouted layer of ceramic tiles bonded to a fiber-reinforced, water-impervious backing layer. A removable facing layer is adhered to the front face of the panel to complete the laminate. The facing layer imparts increased strength and rigidity to the panel during shipping, handling, and installation and permits the panels to be cut using ordinary carpentry tools without damaging the ceramic tiles.
