    Abstract: A panel with a Venetian mosaic or terrazzo surface is produced by providing a support surface with partitioning walls to separate areas of the desired design, placing colored chips in respective areas, and laying settable material (which may be of different colors in different areas) thereover. The set layer is removed, and the front face (formed on the support surface) is ground. The walls may be incorporated therein. They may be provided by means of sheet material in which the design is carved and which is adhered to the support surface.
