  • Publication number: 20210097615
Abstract: A system and related method provide items of interest to a user for modifying a current user collection of items and then modify the collection. User profile information is received from a user associated with the current user collection and then parsed into a plurality of user factors. A user factor weight is assigned for each of the user factors, and these are stored in a user profile memory. Element provider profile information associated with element provider profiles is received and parsed into element provider factors. Each of these are assigned a weight, and they are stored in an element provider profile memory. A matching score is determined between the user profile and a first element provider profile. An identifier of this provider and its matching score is output to the user. The current user collection is then modified to include an element related to a selected element provider.

  • Patent number: 7110874
Abstract: A method is provided for evaluating the acceptability of idle roughness levels in a newly manufactured multi-cylinder internal combustion engine. The method involves calculating a plurality of metrics based upon the relative firing energies of individual cylinders in the engine and setting threshold values for each of the metrics, below which the engine is to be accepted. Similarly, threshold values are set for each of the metrics, above which the engine is to be rejected. The engine is then evaluated to determine if the engine is to be accepted or rejected based upon the calculated metrics and the threshold values for acceptance or rejection set for that metric. If the engine has not been previously accepted or rejected based on a particular metric the engine is evaluated using each of the remaining metrics. If the engine has not been rejected after all metrics have been evaluated the engine is finally accepted.

  • Patent number: 6601676
Abstract: A self-lubricating ballscrew has a screwshaft and a ballnut surrounding the screwshaft and provided with a re-circulating path for a plurality of balls which roll between the ballnut and the screwshaft when the ballscrew is in use. Lubrication means are in contact with the helical groove of the screwshaft to provide lubrication therefor. The self-lubricating means comprises a lubricant impregnated solid having an elongate portion which follows the path of and is received in the helical groove of the screwshaft. The cross-section of that portion is different from that of the said groove, so that the contact region between the said portion and the said groove coincides with the lines of contact between the balls and the screwshaft. The deposit of lubricant is thereby concentrated on those lines.

  • Patent number: 6505900
Abstract: A storage rack with vertically arranged, horizontal drawers movable by a crank mechanism is provided. Each individual drawer of the storage rack has a gear mechanism which is connected to a drive shaft with wheels. A crank handle is provided to engage the gear mechanism of any individual drawer and provide motive force to the drive shaft. The rotation of the crank causes the drive shaft to rotate and, in turn, rotates the wheels. The wheels travel along respective track members attached the storage rack to move a drawer in and out relative to the storage rack.

  • Publication number: 20020107029
Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system (100) includes a service control point (108) that implements a geographical interface that permits applications to request and receive geographical zone data for a mobile unit (101). The request (300) for geographical zone data identifies the mobile unit (302) and the type of zone requested (304). A zone manager (204) receives the request and communicates the request to a location manager (202). The location manager (202) is coupled to a position determination equipment (110) to determine a location of the mobile unit. The location manager returns the location of the mobile unit to the zone manager. The zone manager uses the location of the mobile unit, the zone type requested and a database of predefined zones to determine a zone for the current location of the mobile unit. The zone of the mobile unit is returned to applications via a response (400).
