  • Publication number: 20160057926
Abstract: A jackshaft and grain elevator arrangement is disclosed for agricultural combines. A grain elevator has a housing, a drive sprocket within the housing, a driven sprocket within the housing, and a chain within the housing. The chain is wrapped around the drive sprocket and the driven sprocket, and a plurality of paddles are attached to the chain. A shaft is fixed to and extends through the drive sprocket to drive rotation of the drive sprocket. A first pulley outside the housing is fixed to the shaft to receive power from an engine of the combine and is configured to transmit that power to the shaft. A second pulley outside the housing is fixed to the shaft to receive power from the shaft and is configured to transmit that power to a first crop processing device.

  • Patent number: 8781694
Abstract: A combine harvester (102) drive system switches between a first isochronous operating curve (622) and a second isochronous operating curve (628) of an isochronously governed engine (126) when a load on the combine harvester engine (126) reaches one or more threshold load conditions.

  • Patent number: 6722112
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for engaging and disengaging the reverse operation of a feederhouse of a harvesting apparatus. The mechanism solves the problem of accurate engagement between the shift collar or driving element and the reverse gear, teeth or splines and the forward gear, teeth or splines of the feederhouse transmission. The mechanism comprises an actuator, electrically controlled, which loads or compresses a spring, wherein the spring exerts a shifting force on a shift shaft or shift fork of the gearbox which automatically moves the shift collar or driving element of the transmission into either a forward or reverse drive position when the gear, teeth of splines of the shift collar is aligned or meshed with the gear, teeth or splines of either the reverse or forward drive of the feederhouse transmission.

  • Patent number: 4967863
Abstract: A drive system for the internal combustion engine of a large work vehicle, such as a self-propelled agricultural combine. The drive system comprising three concentric drive shafts that are housed in a housing for driving three separate usage assemblies. The outer and middle drive shafts are provided with bevel gear assemblies having output axes perpendicular to the drive shafts axis. The bevel gear assembly of the outer drive shaft is coupled to a series of four sequentially mounted hydraulic pumps, whereas the bevel gear assembly of the middle drive shaft is coupled to a forwardly extending drive shaft. An internal clutch is provided for operatively engaging and disengaging the middle drive shaft from the drive train.
