  • Patent number: 8328265
Abstract: The invention relates to a storage compartment (1) having a pivotable cover (5). The invention proposes that the cover (5) be mounted on a slider member (3) and driven with a constraining kinematic arrangement (15) so that, during opening, the cover (5) is in the first instance displaced with the slider member (3) in parallel and is then pivoted upwards, the cover (5) being displaced further with the slider member (3) during pivoting.

  • Publication number: 20060208506
Abstract: A latching mechanism adapted for use with an assembly within a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The latching mechanism includes an actuator pivotably mounted on the assembly, a biasing device coupled to the actuator, and a dampener coupled to the actuator. The actuator carries an engagement member that is disposed within a detent of a labyrinth when the assembly is closed. The dampener is also coupled to the assembly for retarding movement of the actuator, wherein upon a sudden impact affecting the assembly when closed, the dampener retards movement of the actuator for a predetermined time to enable the engagement member to remain disposed in the detent to keep the assembly closed.
