    Abstract: A system for retaining and filtering animal litter. The inventive device includes a plurality of nested receptacles for containing the litter. A screen insert is removably positioned within a corner of the receptacle to permit filtering of the litter during pouring thereof into another receptacle. A cover assembly is coupled to an uppermost one of the receptacles to preclude projection of litter therefrom by a pet.
