  • Publication number: 20240125013
Abstract: Yarns are described herein which, in some embodiments, comprise plies or single strands dyed with at least one vat dyestuff yielding a tweed or heathered appearance. In one aspect, a yarn comprises a first ply and a second ply each dyed with at least one vat dyestuff, wherein a difference in color depth (DL*) between the dyed first single strand and the dyed second single strand has an absolute value of at least 2 when the vat dyestuff is in an oxidized state. As described further herein, the first ply and the second ply are dyed in the same dyebath. In another aspect, a yarn comprises a first ply and a second ply each dyed with at least one vat dyestuff, wherein a reflectance ration between the second ply and the first ply ranges from 0.05 to 0.95.

  • Publication number: 20100030571
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of generating a revenue stream by providing cosmetic medical aesthetic treatments to patients within their personal medical doctor's or other physician's (PMD's) office such that a second party business entity can provide sourcing of resources required, equipment, software, personnel hiring, operational and clinical training and consulting, development, placement and management of advertising and marketing, and a lead management system for the PMD or group of PMDs. The combining of similarly contracted physicians into an advertising and marketing group is also part of the present disclosure. Another important aspect of the disclosure is that the methods include providing a revenue sharing program between PMDs.

  • Publication number: 20090246270
Abstract: The method disclosed includes the combining of iontophoresis or electrotherapy and ultrasound to deliver the appropriate chromophores to the skin for cosmetic or therapeutic treatment of the skin and skin conditions by the use of a laser, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a combination of laser and Radio Frequency (RF) energy, or a combination of IPL and RF.

  • Publication number: 20090192438
Abstract: The method disclosed includes the combining of iontophoresis or electrotherapy and ultrasound to simultaneously deliver the appropriate chromophore to the skin for cosmetic or therapeutic treatment of the skin and skin conditions by the use of a laser, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a combination of laser and Radio Frequency (RF) energy, or a combination of IPL and RF.

  • Publication number: 20090149796
Abstract: The method disclosed includes combining iontophoresis and ultrasound to deliver the appropriate chromophores to blonde, grey, white, vellus, and other non-pigmented or laser resistant hair follicles to facilitate photothermolysis hair removal using a laser, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a combination of laser and RF energy, or a combination of IPL and RF. This technique preferentially ultra-exposes the hair follicles to light energy which is absorbed preferentially by naturally and synthetic elements in and around the hair follicle. The result is focused photothermolysis damage resulting in death of the hair producing tissue. The combined use of iontophoresis and ultrasound with the appropriate chromophore and laser light allows for immediate and permanent removal of unwanted hair in selected locations on the body of mammals.

  • Patent number: 5607479
Abstract: The process of replacing a person's hair loss involves a combination of medical hair transplants and a non-medical hair piece. A front natural hair line is formed by surgically transplanting hair follicles from one area of the person's head to the frontal area, with micrografts of 1 to 2 hair follicles being located along the most forward portion of the front natural hair line. The front portion or edge of a non-surgical hair piece is customized to fit precisely behind the front natural hair line and to blend into the surgically transplanted hair.

  • Patent number: 5386196
Abstract: A system (10) accurately measures the resistivity of a material (12) via capacitive coupling without contact with the material (12). A transmission electrode (14a) sends signals through the material (12) to a reception electrode (14b). An oscillation mechanism (16) forwards a periodic signal at a predetermined frequency f to the electrode (14a), and a detection mechanism (18) receives a resistivity signal from the electrode (14b), which signal is proportional to the resistivity of the material (12), and translates the resistivity signal into a resistivity value for the material (12). The oscillation mechanism (16) comprises an oscillator (21) connected through a transformer (T1) to a quarter-wavelength stub (24), which feeds an excitation signal to the transmission electrode (14a). The detection mechanism (18) comprises a detector (31) connected via a transformer (T2) to a quarter-wavelength stub (26), which is directly connected to the reception electrode (14b).

  • Patent number: 4165526
Abstract: A tape cleaner for mounting on a magnetic tape recorder between take-up reels on the recorder includes opposed cleaning elements for receiving a stretch of tape therebetween and wiping the tape on both sides thereof as the tape is drawn therethrough. A mounting is also provided for mounting the cleaning elements on the recorder which permits the cleaning elements to reorient both rectilinearly and rotationally in response to a change in tape position relative to the mounting.
