  • Patent number: 5991528
Abstract: An expert manufacturing system generates a manufacturing plan for producing a part in an automated manufacturing system. The expert manufacturing system generates a multipurpose manufacturing geometry definitions file. The expert manufacturing system includes a rule-based expert system which uses the manufacturing geometry definitions file to generate the manufacturing plan in the form of a neutral source code file. The neutral source code is converted to machine-specific program code directly executable by a device controller, such as a logic controller or motion controller. The expert manufacturing system also includes a parametric drawing generation program for generating drawing of the part, and a computer simulation program for simulating the manufacturing plan for producing the part.

  • Patent number: 4494889
Abstract: A bushing and hub assembly for mounting sheaves, sprockets, gears, couplings and similar machine elements on a shaft, wherein two types of tapered bushings are used, the bushings having bodies of the same taper used with a single hub which is compatible with both bushings. One of the bushings has a radially extending annular flange at the large end of the tapered body and the other bushing is flangeless. The screw holes and plain holes are provided in the flange and at the interface of the bushing and hub for securing the selected bushing in place in the hub for mounting the machine element on the shaft with screws for tightening the bushings securely in place on the shaft and in the hub bore. The two bushings and the sidewalls of the hub all have the same taper and are interchangeable with one another, to provide optimum performance and convenience of installation.

  • Patent number: 3987896
Abstract: The match container is provided with a separate match retaining element and a separate hollow match striking element in which a striking surface is located within a pocket formed within the striking element after which the two elements are permanently attached to each other. The striking element is constructed of a non-combustible material having at least one collapsible side and an opening in at least one edge of the striking element through which a match head and part of the match stick is inserted to a point where the match head will be in the area of the striking surface and will be ignited when the wall of the striking element is collapsed and the match withdrawn from the pocket.

  • Patent number: 3967725
Abstract: The improvement in a match container having a striking surface without the container, in which the striking surface is enclosed within a collapsible pocket extending outwardly from the striking surface to a distance sufficient to easily receive a portion of the match and the ignitible head after which the collapsible pocket is depressed toward the striking surface causing the ignitible head to engage the striking surface and be ignited as the match and head are withdrawn from the pocket.
