  • Patent number: 7044513
Abstract: A weather resistant latch handle assembly including a pan having sidewalls with an opening from an interior side of the pan to an exterior side of the pan, a pan floor, and a recessed area defined by the sidewalls and the floor. Bushings are carried in the openings having an inner surface for receiving an actuator which extends from the exterior side of the pan to the interior side, and an outer surface for engaging the sidewall. A first annular groove is included in the inner surface of the bushing carrying a first o-ring for forming a seal between the inner surface of the bushing and the actuator. A second annular groove is included in the outer surface of the bushing carrying a second o-ring for forming a seal between the bushing and sidewall.

  • Patent number: 6783163
Abstract: A floating receiving mechanism is disclosed for use with a handle assembly including a base member defining a central opening therethrough, and a substantially U-shaped keeper having a base portion defining a central opening therethrough and two arms extending from the base portion. The keeper is attached to the base plate so that the keeper central opening is substantially aligned with the base plate central opening and so that the keeper is slidable laterally relative to the base plate. The keeper is configured for releasably retaining an extending portion of the handle assembly. The extending portion may be a member such as a keeper stud. Other receiving mechanisms and related handle latch assemblies are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6758503
Abstract: An offset handle assembly for use on a vehicle or structure comprising a tray that has a front side and back side, which also defines a recess. A handle is pivotal with respect to the tray. The handle is substantially located on the front side of the tray, and within the recess. A mechanical linkage is operatively connected to the handle. The mechanical linkage operates when the handle is turned. Also, an operating mechanism is operatively connected to the mechanical linkage. The operating mechanism is disposed on the back side of the tray and adjacent the recess so as to be laterally offset from the handle. Operation of the mechanical linkage causes the operating mechanism to operate.

  • Patent number: 6666053
Abstract: A reversible spring loaded lock slide assembly for use in locking a door latch is provided. The assembly includes a spring loaded slide case. A lock slide is in sliding engagement with the spring loaded slide case and has a first and second cavity. The lock slide has a contact member at one end and is capable of being placed in two orientations. A spring biases the lock slide relative to the spring loaded slide case.

  • Patent number: 5941104
Abstract: A latch assembly includes a tray having a front side and a back side with a cavity defined in the front side of the tray. A handle member is pivotally mounted to the tray at the front side. An actuating member is pivotally mounted relative to the tray on the back side of the tray and is operably connected to pivot with the handle member. An operating member is mounted on the back side of the tray and is movable between a locked position and an operating position. In the operating position, the operating member is contactable by the actuating member upon movement of the handle member. A latching mechanism is configured on the back side of the tray. The latching mechanism latches and unlatches upon a striker element, and is actuated by the operating member in the operating position upon movement of the handle member. In its locked position, the operating member is moved to a position to be out of contact with the actuating member even the though the handle member and actuating member are still freely rotatable.
