  • Publication number: 20220050206
Abstract: Systems and methods improving three-dimensional sensor measurement accuracy are provided. For instance, an example apparatus can include a distance-estimation system, a distance-refinement system, and a processing system. The distance-estimation system can be configured to receive a first optical signal and determine a first distance between two points in an environment. The distance-refinement system can be configured to receive a second optical signal and determine a second distance between the two points in the environment. The processing system can be configured to receive information representing the first distance and the second distance and determine, based on the first distance and the second distance, a third distance between the two points in the environment. The difference between a true distance of the two points in the environment and the first distance can be larger than a difference between the true distance of the two points in the environment and the third distance.

  • Publication number: 20210381960
Abstract: Systems and methods for sensing objects are provided. A sensing apparatus can include a sensor comprising a photo-detecting unit configured to absorb (i) a first incident light having a first wavelength to generate a first detecting signal and (ii) a second incident light having a second wavelength to generate a second detecting signal. The sensing apparatus can further include a calculation circuit coupled to the sensor. The calculation circuit can be configured to output a calculating result according to the first detecting signal and the second detecting signal. The sensing apparatus can further include an adjustment circuit coupled to the calculation circuit. The adjustment circuit can be configured to perform an adjustment to one or more functionalities associated with the sensing apparatus according to the calculating result.

  • Patent number: 10671222
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed. In some examples, the apparatus comprises a cover substrate having a front surface, a first edge and a first cavity adjacent to the first edge. In some examples, the apparatus comprises a plurality of touch sensor electrodes disposed opposite the front surface of the cover substrate. In some examples, the apparatus comprises at least one touch sensor edge electrode disposed within the first cavity on a surface that is angled relative to the front surface of the cover substrate. In some examples, at least one touch sensor edge electrode is disposed on an outward facing curved surface of the first cavity. In some examples, the plurality of touch sensor electrodes are formed from a first conductive material and the at least one touch sensor edge electrode is formed from a second conductive material. In some examples, the first conductive material is transparent, and the second conductive material is non-transparent.

  • Publication number: 20160101609
Abstract: An electronic device may have display layers and other structures. A layer of liquid adhesive may be patterned onto a structure. The liquid adhesive may be pre-cured to increase the viscosity of the liquid adhesive and to partially shrink the liquid adhesive. The structure to which the liquid adhesive has been applied may be laminated to another structure. During lamination, the pre-cured liquid adhesive may be compressed between the structures that are being laminated. The adhesive may then be fully cured to bond the structures together. The thickening of the liquid adhesive during pre-curing helps control the spread of the adhesive. The shrinking of the liquid adhesive helps prevent stresses from developing that could lead to visible stress-induced artifacts following curing.

  • Publication number: 20140071392
Abstract: One embodiment of method and apparatus for laminating a first substrate to a second substrate can use a liquid optically clear adhesive to form an initial contact area in addition to bonding the first substrate to the second substrate. When either the first substrate or the second substrate is relatively clear, the initial contact area can help reduce the introduction of bubbles or voids into a lamination region between the two substrates. In another embodiment, selected regions of a substrate can be treated to enhance the flow of the liquid optically clear adhesive, which can also reduce the introduction of bubbles and voids into the lamination region.

  • Patent number: 5349335
Abstract: An automatic gas spray device for deterring crime is provided. The device includes a longitudinally grooved seat and a spring inside a casing for securing the position of a gas tank. A female connector on the outlet of the gas tank is detachably connected to a male connector coupled to a nozzle through a solenoid valve. A battery case is fastened to an opening formed in the casing, into which a rechargeable battery is inserted and covered by a battery lid. A control main unit disposed within the casing is controlled by a sensor to give a warning sound for 5 seconds and then to switch on the solenoid valve for dispensing gas from the nozzle for a predetermined time duration. A gas volume monitor and a battery power indicator is also provided.
