  • Publication number: 20200302708
Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle accessory calibration and reset module that includes a sensor associated with a vehicle component, and configured to detect a malfunction of the vehicle component, and generate a signal to indicate the malfunction. The vehicle accessory calibration and reset module also includes a control unit configured to receive the signal indicative of the malfunction, automatically identify a diagnostic procedure for the vehicle component, initiate the diagnostic procedure, determine whether a calibration or reset is indicated as part of the diagnostic procedure, initiate an automatic calibration or reset of the vehicle component, initiate a test of the vehicle component, and recommend service options to a user if a result of the test indicates a continuing malfunction status of the vehicle component.

  • Publication number: 20200298757
Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle including an automotive trailer lighting diagnostic system, the system including: a trailer, one or more trailer lights disposed on the trailer, and one or more components of the vehicle or trailer that are associated with the one or more trailer lights. The vehicle also includes a user interface, and a control unit configured to: activate the trailer lights in a particular sequence, receive a signal identifying at least one malfunctioning trailer light, and identify a diagnostic procedure from a plurality of diagnostic procedures. The control unit is further configured to initiate the identified diagnostic procedure, execute the steps of the diagnostic procedure by soliciting information from a user via the user interface, issuing instructions to the user via the user interface, and executing branching logic steps.

  • Publication number: 20190042095
Abstract: An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a memory controller having register space to inform the memory controller that the memory controller is coupled to a memory module that conforms to a first memory chip industry standard specification but is composed of memory chips that conform to a second, different memory chip industry standard specification.

  • Patent number: 7133960
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system and method for mapping the logical chip selects to a physical chip select. A chip select remapping unit receives logical chip select associated with a dual in-line memory module. The chip select remapping unit converts the logical chip select vector through a redirection table that maps the logical memory ranks to available physical memory ranks.

  • Patent number: 7127584
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system and method for making rank-specific adjustments to the READ tenure parameters of a double data-rate (DDR) memory component to improve the DDR bus timing margins. When a READ tenure is encountered for the DDR memory component, the rank of the DDR memory component is calculated and the value is used to retrieve two adjustment signals, which are specific to the DDR memory component, from the look up table. One of the adjustment signals is used to adjust a gating signal for the data strobe signal of the component. The other adjustment signal is used to fine tune a required ¼ clock delay for the data strobe signal to read the data from the DDR memory component while adjusting for the inherent latency of the DDR memory component. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 7106633
Abstract: Write pointer error recovery systems and methods are provided. A write pointer from a write pointer circuit may cause a demultiplexer circuit to direct data from a memory cell to a desired bit location in a register. A read pointer may cause a multiplexer circuit to select data from a desired bit location in the register to provide as output data or to select one of the bits of the write pointer. The write pointer may be incremented by a data strobe signal. The state of the write pointer may be determined by reading the bits of the write pointer, and the write pointer may be synchronized via a reset line. Other embodiments are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 6956775
Abstract: A write pointer (21) from a write pointer circuit (13) may cause a demultiplexer circuit (12) to direct data from a memory cell (11A–11N) to a desired bit location (0–4) in a register 14. A read pointer (20) may cause a multiplexer circuit (15) to select data from a desired bit location in the register to provide as output data (19) or to select one of the bits of the write pointer. The write pointer may be incremented by a data strobe signal (17). The state of the write pointer may be determined by reading the bits of the write pointer, and the write pointer may be synchronized via a reset line (18).

  • Patent number: 5503367
Abstract: An exhaust gas obturator comprises a tubular housing (11a) having a butterfly valve (14a,15) journalled in the wall thereof. The butterfly valve spindle (14a) passes through a chamber (24,25) on one side of the housing and carries a sealing ring (26) thereon and located in the chamber (24,25). The sealing ring (26) is a close sliding fit on the butterfly valve spindle (14a) when the obturator is closed, exhaust gas pressure on the upstream side enters the chamber (24,25) and urges the seal (26) against a cover plate (23a) thereby to prevent the escape of exhaust gas to atmosphere. The chamber (24,25) is preferably vented to the downstream side. The seal may alternatively be biased by resilient means (not shown).

  • Patent number: 5394901
Abstract: An exhaust gas pressure modulation valve for a diesel engine vehicle combines the functions of an exhaust brake and a warm-up valve and has a single butterfly valve (12) to close the exhaust passage. The butterfly is reactive and opens automatically at a predetermined back pressure to prevent engine damage. The butterfly includes a small bypass passage or aperture (29) to permit a low throughput of exhaust gas when closed.

  • Patent number: 5372109
Abstract: An exhaust modulator in or to be fitted in the exhaust system of an engine, having a body defining a flowpath therethrough for engine exhaust gases, a gate in the exhaust flowpath movable between an open and a closed position, one or more bleed flowpaths communicating between opposite sides of the gate, and a flow control mechanism. The mechanism is responsive to one or more operating parameters to control the flow of exhaust gases along the one or more bleed flowpaths so as to limit the back pressure applied to the engine to different predetermined levels as required for operation of the modulator in selected modes.
