  • Publication number: 20230334291
Abstract: A computer vision system configured for detection and recognition of objects in video and still imagery in a live or historical setting uses a teacher-student object detector training approach to yield a merged student model capable of detecting all of the classes of objects any of the teacher models is trained to detect. Further, training is simplified by providing an iterative training process wherein a relatively small number of images is labeled manually as initial training data, after which an iterated model cooperates with a machine-assisted labeling process and an active learning process where detector model accuracy improves with each iteration, yielding improved computational efficiency. Further, synthetic data is generated by which an object of interest can be placed in a variety of setting sufficient to permit training of models. A user interface guides the operator in the construction of a custom model capable of detecting a new object.

  • Publication number: 20230218316
Abstract: An introducer guide includes a guiding assembly to guide insertion an instrument, such as a biopsy needle, through a selected insertion point on a patient's body and along a selected insertion path. An imaging system, such as a CT scanner, is used to visualize portions of the guiding assembly in relation to the patient's tissues as the insertion path is adjusted. The guiding assembly includes a semicircular arch connected with a base plate by sliding hinges with a center of curvature of the arch centered on the insertion point. A guide body is slidably connected with the arch. Rotation of the arch about the hinges adjusts a first angle of the insertion path. Motion of the guide body along the arch adjusts a second angle of the insertion path. Linkages, such as linear actuation cables, rotary cables, or pneumatic or hydraulic actuators, connect the arch and guide body with remote operators. A practitioner aligns the guide assembly with the insertion point and fixes the base to the patient's skin.

  • Patent number: 11504013
Abstract: A monitoring system configured to measure the user's health-related parameters while in a certain state is disclosed. Based on whether the user is in the certain state and/or one or more criteria being met, the monitoring system can perform a physiological measurement such as a blood pressure measurement. The monitoring system can be capable of dynamically adjusting the measurement parameters, criteria, and acquired information based one or more scalers. The criteria can be based on user states or conditions such that user disruptions can be reduced and the measurement accuracy and/or efficiency can be enhanced. The monitoring system can also measure the user's parameters during the measurement and may abort the measurement if the measurement may not have accurate information and/or to reduce any disruption to the user. Alternatively, the measurement can be annotated so that the measurement can be used during data interpretation with certain qualifiers attached.

  • Publication number: 20080097163
Abstract: A retractor (101) for retracting the margins of a wound opening (103) comprises an inner anchoring O-ring (105) attached to a cylindrical sleeve (106) at a distal end and a reinforcing O-ring (109) attached to a proximal end of the sleeve (106). The sleeve (106) is led between an inner ring part (110) and a corresponding recess (116) in an outer ring part (111). The outer ring part (111) has anchor formations (120) over which the proximal end of the sleeve (106) is attached to anchor the sleeve (106). To retract the wound opening (103) the sleeve (106) is pulled while the guide rings (110, 111) are moved against the tissue surrounding the wound opening (103). This pulls the inner O-ring (105) against the inside of the tissue adjacent the wound opening (103), and retracts the wound opening (103). The sleeve (106) is manipulated locally for maximum retraction efficiency.
