    Abstract: Methods and systems for enabling a screen sharing functionality of an output device are provided. More particularly, one or more first commands may be provided to a headend from a mobile device. The headend may then provide one or more second commands to an output device to enable a screen sharing functionality of the output device. Additional configuration parameters may be received at the headend from the mobile device and provided to the output device to change, for instance, a broadcast name of the output device. Content may then be streamed directly from the mobile device to the output device using a direct device-to-device communication protocol.
