  • Patent number: 10733473
Abstract: A mobile computing device can capture a plurality of images of an object to be verified using a camera of the mobile computing device. A first image of the plurality of images is captured while a flash of the mobile computing device is deactivated and a second of the plurality of images is captured while the flash is activated. The verification data can include a first set of verification metrics, which is representative of the light reflectivity of the object, and can be generated by the mobile computing device or a network service by analyzing the first and second images.

  • Publication number: 20160292679
Abstract: A system can determine that a service has been initiated for a user by a service provider. During performance or progress of the service, the system can receive location data points from a computing device operated by the user or the service provider and detect an occurrence of an event in connection with the service based on one or more of a set of received location data points, or an elapsed amount of time since the initiation of the service. In response to detecting the occurrence of the event, the system can determine a score that enables the transport to be monitored for unauthorized overuse.

  • Publication number: 20160048831
Abstract: A plurality of user accounts can be stored in a memory resource accessible by a computing device. A request for an on-demand service can be received at the computing device from a service application operating on a user device. The user device is associated with a first user account of the plurality of user accounts. The computing device can determine that the first user account is associated with a potentially fraudulent user. In response to determining that the first user account is associated with a potentially fraudulent user, the computing device can cause the service application to display a prompt instructing a user operating the user device to scan or capture an image of a payment card using a camera of the user device.
