  • Publication number: 20070015618
Abstract: A transmission for distributing a drive torque to two drive output shafts, with two planetary gearsets each having at least three shafts. A respective shaft of a planetary gearset is connected to a drive input shaft. Furthermore, one shaft of each planetary gearset constitutes one of the output shafts and in each case at least one further shaft of a planetary gearset is connected with a shaft of another planetary gearset. An operation-status-dependent torque of one shaft can be supported by the connection, depending on an operating status of the other shaft connected thereto, in such manner that when there is a rotation speed difference between the output shafts, a speed-difference-changing torque is applied to the planetary gearsets. Furthermore, a drive train is proposed, in which a drive torque from a drive-power-source is distributed variably in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the vehicle in an operation-status-dependent manner.

  • Publication number: 20060260897
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the power transfer capabilities of two, shifting elements, by way of which output torque of a transmission of a vehicle can be conducted in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle to driving wheels of a drivable vehicle axle with the inherent degrees of apportionment as conducted in relationship to the power transfer capability of the shifting elements. Each shifting element has an electric motor; a transmission operationally connected with the electric motor; and placed between the shifting element and the transmission apparatus, a drive converter apparatus, by way of which rotationally directed drive of the electric motors is respectively transformed into a translational activation motion for the control of the shifting elements. The drive converter apparatuses respectively possess a first drive element and a second drive element of which one drive element, converse to the other drive element, is of translational movement.

  • Publication number: 20060225982
Abstract: A transmission for distributing a drive torque between at least two drive output shafts with at least two planetary gearsets, each having at least three-shafts. In each case, a shaft of a planetary gearset is connected to a drive input shaft and a second respective shaft of a planetary gearsets is the drive output shafts. A respective third shaft of the planetary gearsets communicates with a brake such that a degree of distribution of the drive torque between the two output shafts varies as a function of the transfer capacities of the brakes. A transmission device controls and regulates a drive torque from a drive engine between the two output shafts of the transmission device. The transfer capacities of the two brakes are adjusted such that one brake is in a synchronous condition and the transfer capacity of the other brake is varied between a lower and an upper limiting value.

  • Publication number: 20060207854
Abstract: A transfer case (12) for distributing a driving torque of an input shaft (19) between two drivable output shafts (22, 29) is described. The transfer case (12) is realized with two controllable and adjustable frictionally engaged clutches (k_VA, k_HA), which are arranged between the input shaft (19) and the output shafts (22, 29) and whose transfer capabilities can be respectively adjusted via separate actuating devices (10, 11). A driving torque can be distributed between the drivable output torques (22, 29) in dependence upon the set transfer capabilities of the clutches (k_VA, k_HA). One clutch (k_HA) can also be radially enclosed by the other clutch (k_VA).

  • Publication number: 20060166786
Abstract: A method for controlling a drive train of a vehicle having a a multi-group transmission, comprising an automatic transmission and a subsequently placed range group. During a change of the gear ratio of the range group, the following occurrences take place: the drive train is relieved of load by a change of motor torque; an openable shifting element of the range group is opened; an closable shifting element of the range group is synchronized and closed; one ratio of the automatic transmission is changed in such a way that a change of ratio of the multi-group transmission is smaller than is an unassisted change of ratio of the range group. A desired speed of rotation of the motor is established by changing the transfer capability of one shifting element to an equivalent ratio of the multi-group transmission, which ratio exhibits a connective rotary speed to which the closable shifting element of the range group is synchronous.

  • Patent number: 6993991
Abstract: A gear selector device for a transmission of a motor vehicle in which at least one gear wheel 2, 3 and one sliding sleeve 4 are situated upon one transmission shaft 1. For axial displacement of the sliding sleeve 4 upon the transmission shaft 1, a pressure-medium actuatable shifting device 45 is used which is supplied with a control pressure medium through a hole 10 within the transmission shaft 1. When several such sliding sleeves 4, 20 are disposed upon such a transmission shaft 1, there results a higher total construction cost for the control pressure supply thereof. The object of the invention is a transmission shaft 1 having several sliding sleeves 4, 20 to reduce the total construction cost for the axial displacement of the sliding sleeves 4, 20. To the end, it is provided that the shifting devices 45, 46 of the sliding sleeves 4, 20 can be supplied independently of each other with a control pressure medium through one common pressure medium hole 6 in the transmission shaft 1.

  • Patent number: 6969338
Abstract: Described is a method for controlling and regulating a drive train of a vehicle comprising one drive unit, one transmission and one output unit. The transmission has controllable free-wheel device corresponding with toothed wheel pairs for disconnecting or connecting an old or a new gear and located on the input side one clutch. In the presence of a shifting signal for carrying out a higher traction shift, an input torque of the drive unit is quickly reduced so that a first vibration is induced in the drive unit. During a subsequent shifting, an operative connection is abruptly created between a free-wheel device and a toothed wheel pair corresponding therewith in a manner such that a second vibration counteracting the first vibration is produced in the drive train. With the engagement of the new gear the operative connection of the old gear is canceled as a result of a torque reversal from a pull torque to a push torque.

  • Patent number: 6905439
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling and regulating the drive train of a vehicle, comprising a drive unit, a transmission and an output unit. The transmission has controllable free-wheel units corresponding with pairs of toothed wheels for disengaging or engaging an old or a new gear and a clutch mounted on the output side. In the presence of a shift command for carrying out a higher traction shift, the transmission capacity of the clutch is adjusted in a manner such that a current drive torque of the drive unit applied to said clutch is transmitted to the output unit and the clutch exhibits at least an approximately slip-free state. When a higher traction shift exists, an operative connection is suddenly created between a controllable free-wheel unit and a corresponding pair of toothed wheels of the new gear, and the operative connection of the old gear is at least almost simultaneously canceled.
