  • Patent number: 10393217
Abstract: A person-conveying device that connects a first story of a building to a second story of the building may include a supporting framework with a carrier element and an adaptive vibration-damping system. The carrier element allows the person-conveying device to be connected to the building via the adaptive vibration-damping system. A method for reducing the transmission of vibrations from the building to the person-conveying device that is connected to the building may involve the adaptive vibration damping system. Vibration data may be detected outside the person-conveying device, and the detected vibration data may be evaluated. Vibration damping of the vibration-damping system may then be adapted based on the evaluated vibration data.

  • Patent number: 10308483
Abstract: Conveyors and people movers, such as escalators and moving walkways, for instance, may include a support member belt comprised of a plurality of support members guided on rails. The support members may be, for example, steps of an escalator or pallets of a moving walkway. Each support member may be secured to a pair of drag rollers that travels along the rails. Further, each support member may include a roller spindle that is held rotationally conjointly in or on a body of the support member. Between the roller spindle and the body of the support member, there may be a plug-in connection by way of which the roller spindle is maintained against an undercut under bias of a latching device.

  • Patent number: 7641038
Abstract: A passenger conveyor (20) includes a handrail assembly (30) comprising a handrail (32) having a plurality of co-extruded polymer materials (34, 36). In one example, an outermost portion (34) establishes a passenger gripping surface (38). One example includes an extruded soft, low cost polymer in the middle of the handrail cross section to reduce cost and weight. A disclosed example includes a toothed driving surface (40) on an inner side made of a selected one of the polymer materials (34, 36). In one example, the driving surface (40) and the gripping surface (38) comprise the same polymer material.

  • Patent number: 7562759
Abstract: A passenger conveyor handrail (30) includes a plurality of teeth (36) that interact with a toothed driving member (42). In a disclosed example, a low friction material (60) is placed near an end of the teeth (36) on the handrail (30). The low friction material (60) facilitates the teeth sliding along a guidance (70) but does not interfere with a desired engagement between the teeth(36) and corresponding teeth (46) on the driving member (42).

  • Publication number: 20090008217
Abstract: A passenger conveyor handrail (30) is driven by a device (40) including a toothed drive belt (42). An example drive belt has a plurality of teeth (46) with an at least partially concave surface (50) for engaging teeth (36) on the handrail (30). A disclosed example also includes at least partially convex projections (52) near an end of each tooth on the drive belt (42). A driven surface (48) of the drive belt (42) includes a plurality of grooves (70) arranged to allow the drive belt to slip relative to a drive wheel (60) under certain loading conditions. The disclosed example arrangement facilitates proper engagement between a drive belt (42) and a toothed handrail (30) while avoiding vertical separation forces between them, which allows for eliminating pinching rollers that would otherwise engage a gripping surface (32) on the handrail (30).
