Abstract: A system is provided for interfacing with a mobile device. The system includes a mobile device operable to present the active content of the mobile device in association with an external computing device and receiving, on the mobile device, user input from one or more components associated with the external computing device. A system for interfacing with a mobile device is also provided. The system includes one or more proximity control components, one or more translator components, one or more rendering components, and one or more transferring components. A system for communicating active content of a mobile device to an external computing device is also provided. The system includes a mobile device operable to transfer data containing at least one of display definitions, navigational elements, and active content and an external computing device operable to present the transferred data.

Abstract: To display a multimedia presentation together with location-based content, a client device reports its location to a content server. The device receives and displays video content from the content server. The device also receives location-based information related to the multimedia presentation. This location-based information may be textual data in an XML (extensible markup language) format. In some embodiments, the multimedia presentation is video content that includes an advertisement for a good or service, and the location-based content identifies a nearby establishment offering the good or service. The client device renders the video and textual data together.

Abstract: An alarm device is provided. The alarm device comprises a processor, an alerting component, a communication interface, and an alarm application. The communication interface receives messages encapsulating an alarm control message from a third party. The alarm application, when executed by the processor, receives the message from the communication interface, validates the message based on a code embedded in the message, parses a body of the message to extract the encapsulated alarm control message, schedules an alarm event based on the body of the message, and activates the alerting component when the alarm event occurs.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for carrier data based product inventory management and marketing. The method includes receiving a product transaction record relating to a product from a carrier data source. The method also includes determining a present phase in a life cycle for the product based on a product history for the product and the product transaction record. The method additionally includes adjusting a product management plan for the product based on the present phase in the life cycle.

Abstract: A mobile device for personal computer assistance is provided. The mobile device is configured for wireless communication over a mobile device network. The mobile device includes an interface configured to establish a communication link between the mobile device and a personal computer. The mobile device also includes a storage device configured to store session information from a personal computer and to retrieve the session information for another personal computer.

Abstract: A method of delivering advertisements with media content using context based filtering is provided. The method comprises copying a unit of media content and then accessing a first advertisement wherein the first advertisement comprises a first advertisement content and a context based filtering criteria. The method also comprises examining the copied unit of media content using the context based filtering criteria and when the copied unit of media content conflicts with the context based filtering criteria, the copied unit of media content is delivered without the first advertisement content. When the copied unit of media content does not conflict with the context based filtering criteria, the copied unit of media content is delivered with the first advertisement content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for seamless retrieval of coupons and other non-standard items to a mobile device. Some method embodiments comprise: receiving a communication that specifies a user id and a coupon id, and storing the user id and a location of the coupon in a table in response to said receiving. A response to the communication is sent to the mobile device to invoke an application that accesses the table to determine the coupon location and uses the coupon location to download the content. The communication may be a web page request from a browser on the mobile device, and the application may be a coupon organizer external to the web browser. The communication may further include origination information, so that once the retrieval is complete, the mobile device once again displays the original web page and the user is given the perception that the download was accomplished within the browser.

Abstract: A method of enforcing database predicate constraints on database accesses is provided. The method comprises receiving a database query, parsing the query based on constraints defined in system tables, and examining the query for the existence of a where clause. The method also comprises examining the where clause to determine compliance with the constraints defined in the system tables and executing the query only when the query contains a where clause and the where clause complies with the constraints defined in the system tables. The method also comprises rejecting the query when the query one of does not contain a where clause and does contain a where clause and the where clause does not comply with the constraints defined in the system tables.

Abstract: A mobile communication device is provided. The mobile communication device comprises a touch screen adapted for receiving touch inputs and for presenting a visual display, a processor coupled to the touch screen, and an application. The application, when executed by the processor, analyzes a plurality of inputs to the mobile communication device to infer a behavior pattern and presents a sequence of teachings about how to use selected features of the mobile communication device on the touch screen, the selected features distinct from the inputs and selected based on the inferred behavior pattern.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for the dynamic assignment of tasks within an enterprise through determining a group of one or more candidate resources based on defined attributes of a task. The group of one or more candidate resources is then analyzed to intelligently assign the task to one of the resources based on one or more of presence, location, schedule, workload, and performance history for each candidate resource.

Abstract: A device detects an alert event and responds by playing out an alert including a static media portion and a first dynamic media portion. The device maintains, in data storage, alert data that includes the static media portion and the first dynamic media portion. A network server sends the device data for updating the alert data stored in data storage. The data for updating the alert data includes a new dynamic media portion. The device stores the received data including the new dynamic media portion and thereafter plays out an alert including the static media portion and the new dynamic media portion when the device detects an alert event.

Abstract: A method and device for detecting alert events and responsively playing out audio-clips. The audio-clips may comprise data representing a sound recording. Playing out the audio-clips occurs in an order defined by a sequence. The audio-clips and the sequence are maintained in data storage. A processor executes program logic to detect a first alert event and responsively play out at least a first audio-clip of the sequence, and to detect a next alert event and responsively play out at least a next alert event of the sequence. After playing out all audio-clips in the sequence, play out of the audio-clips may then continue with the first audio-clip of the sequence.

Abstract: A method and system for brokering a media file from a media provider to a media requester. A media provider, such as a camera phone, captures a media file. A media requester provides an event-definition record to a network entity so as to request a media file. The network entity requests that the media provider provide media files that meet criteria defined by the event-definition record. The media provider provides a media file and media file data associated with the media file to the network entity. The network entity compares the media file data to the event-definition record, and provides the media file to the media requester if the media file data matches the event-definition record. An enterprise operating the network entity brokers the sale of the media file, in part, by collecting a payment from a media requester user and making a payment to a media provider user.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for remote notification, diagnostics, and remedy management. The method includes interfacing a monitored system for an enterprise via a carrier network, and when the monitored system detects a problem, notifying the selected appropriate user by sending a notification to the user's mobile device, and confirming delivery of the notification. The method also includes authenticating the user according to at least one of 1) the user's subscriber identifier, and 2) the user's mobile device identifier. Optionally, the user may be additionally authenticated at a second layer according to a user name password identifier provided by the user at a prompt. The method additionally includes enabling access via the mobile device to the monitored system using one or more customized applications that enable diagnosis and remediation of the problem.

Abstract: Upon a client encountering an error while operating a self-service application for changing services in a wireless device, the client can queue themselves to speak with a customer care center representative. Data collected from the client through the self-service application is transferred to a customer care system to provide the customer care representative with application state information including which step in the application the customer requires assistance with. Upon the customer care representative successfully assisting the customer the wireless device continues on to the next step in the self-service application. When all of the steps in the self-service application are complete or upon completion of each step, the data collected is transferred to the customer care system and used to update the necessary systems to implement the change in service.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an automated software interface mapping tool for determining and documenting caller/provider relationships, data structures, and data transformations as a system logical data model of a single system or across multiple systems in an enterprise. The system logical data model may be stored as a set of structures and data elements in a metadata repository. The metadata repository enables improved impact analysis, documents dependencies, serves as a tool for implementing application rationalization, and aids in the creation of future code for the generation of new applications or systems.
