Patents by Inventor Dharmesh C. Panchal

Dharmesh C. Panchal has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11266966
Abstract: A process and apparatus is disclosed for gradually starting fluidization in a bed of particulate from the top down so as to avoid thrusting the entire mass of particulates upwardly in the bed at the same time which may damage internals in the bed. The particulate bed may comprise a catalyst cooler for an FCC unit containing internals such as cooling, fluidization and support equipment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 2017
Date of Patent: March 8, 2022
    Assignee: UOP LLC
    Inventor: Dharmesh C. Panchal
  • Patent number: 10781377
Abstract: A process and apparatus for catalytically cracking fresh heavy hydrocarbon feed to produce cracked products is disclosed. A fraction of the cracked products can be obtained to re-crack it in a downer reactor. The downer reactor may produce high selectivity to light olefins. Spent catalyst from both reactors can be regenerated in the same regenerator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 30, 2017
Date of Patent: September 22, 2020
    Assignee: UOP LLC
Inventors: James M. Bell, Dharmesh C. Panchal
  • Patent number: 10563932
Abstract: A process and apparatus for cooling catalyst in a catalyst cooler is disclosed. Nested tubes in the catalyst cooler have an undulating wall for improving heat transfer from the catalyst bed across the wall to the water inside the tubes. The outer tubes have an end wall at an inlet end opposed to an outlet end of a respective inner tube. The helical wall improves the efficiency of heat transfer to increase cooler duty for heavy feed stocks.

Date of Patent: February 18, 2020
    Assignee: UOP LLC
