  • Publication number: 20100267300
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of reactive cyclodextrins, in which process the cyclodextrins CD are reacted with a bifunctional alkyl compound X—(CH2)n—Y, wherein X is a group which reacts with CD, n is an integer from 2 to 20 and Y is a group which reacts with a group Z or is a group-Reactive which is capable of reaction with cellulosic or proteinic materials and, optionally, in a further step, insofar as Y is a group which reacts with a group Z, the resulting product is reacted with a reactive anchor compound Z-Reactive to form the reactive cyclodextrin, and also to reactive cyclodextrins prepared in accordance therewith, to materials dressed therewith and to the use thereof.

  • Patent number: 4151050
Abstract: A process for producing sulfones in which sulfur dioxide is electrolytically transformed into SO.sub.2.sup.- ions and caused to react with organic compounds having functional groups replaceable by SO.sub.2.sup.-, in an aprotic organic solvent, to produce the corresponding organosulfone. According to the present improvement a phosphoric acid triester such as phosphoric acid tribenzyl ester, is added to the solvent as an organic compound capable of reacting with halogen ions of a salt, such as tetraalkylammoniumhalogenide or tetraalkylphosphoniumhalogenide, introduced into the solvent as a conductivity-promoting agent.

According to the present improvement, an ester such as sulfonic acid or sulfuric acid ester, is added to the solvent as an organic compound capable of reacting with halogen ions of a salt, such as tetraalkylamoniumhalogenide or tetraalkylphosphoniumhalogenide, introduced into the solvent as a conductivity-promoting agent.

  • Patent number: 3980535
Abstract: Sulfones are produced by reacting an organic compound R--X (where X is a substituent on the organic radical R replaceable by SO.sub.2.sup.- ion) in an aprotic organic medium which may be the compound itself, with SO.sub.2.sup.- ions produced by electrolysis upon introduction of sulfur dioxide into the system. Any of a wide range of sulfones or polysulfones having surfactant and fabric-treating (finishing) or therapeutic properties or serving as materials for the manufacture of plastics may be made in this manner.
