  • Patent number: 4699334
Abstract: A wing for an aircraft extending along and normally intended to move along a main axis comprises a first pivot fixed on the aircraft and defining a fixed pivot axis generally parallel to the main axis, a guide extending angularly on the aircraft adjacent the first pivot, and a second pivot defining a movable axis generally parallel to the main axis and displaceable in the guide between an inner end position closely juxtaposed with the fixed axis and an outer end position spaced angularly therefrom. A first wing plate is pivotal about the fixed axis and has an inner end fixed to the fixed pivot and an outer end and a second wing plate is pivotal about the movable axis and has an outer end fixed to the outer end of the first plate and an inner end fixed to the second pivot.

  • Patent number: 4558645
Abstract: An improved warhead for transporting a plurality of useful loads which are disposed in a useful load chamber of the warhead. The warhead includes a casing in which a star-shaped hollow body is disposed. The hollow body acts as a brace for the structural assembly and has a central axial pressurized gas passage. The hollow body divides the useful load chamber into a plurality of cells in each one of which a useful load is mounted. Each cell also has an inflatable bag which is disposed radially inwardly relative to the useful load. Each inflatable bag is in fluid communication with the central axial pressurized gas passage and is adapted to expel the useful load transversely with respect to the direction of flight of the warhead upon receiving an internal or external command. Each leg of the star-shaped hollow body has longitudinally extending grooves in which a detonating charge is disposed for severing the casing.

  • Patent number: 4524694
Abstract: A flying vehicle or projectile for transporting a plurality of useful loads which are to be expelled at a predetermined point of the flight path. The flying projectile or transport vehicle includes a useful load chamber that is defined by a cylindrically-shaped housing and includes means for expelling the useful load. The cylindrically shaped housing is formed by means of a plurality of mutually joined segments 13, 13' which are detachable from each other and which form a cylindrical housing surface. The individual segments have hook-shaped extensions 15, 15' through which a rod lockingly extends. Upon the predetermined ignition of a pyrotechnic charge a force is formed by the charge which causes each rod to move so as to unlock the mutually joined segments which thereupon detach themselves from each other to permit the expulsion of the useful loads.

  • Patent number: 4407071
Abstract: An internal diameter measuring and scanning device for pipes, gun barrels and the like, wherein the arrangement is slidably axially movable through the pipe. The arrangement includes a guide body which is rotatably mounted in the pipe. A plurality of feeler fingers are mounted on the guide body and are outwardly biased so as to contact the internal wall surface of the pipe. The feeler fingers are operatively connected to stretch measuring strips which are adapted to emit electrical pulses in accordance with the measurements carried out by the feeler fingers. The electrical pulses are processed in a processing and evaluation unit. A measuring sled is connected to the guide body and is centered in the pipe by leaf springs or brush rings. A step-motor is connected to the guide body to stepwise advance it through the pipe from measuring region to measuring region.

  • Patent number: 4242960
Abstract: There is disclosed a missile which automatically disintegrates after a predetermined flight time. The missile is made up of several parts which are positively secured together by a locking means which is released at a predetermined time after the firing of the missile by the action of the air through which the missile passes during its flight. The invention may by used to advantage in both practice missiles and service missiles.
